I was just listening to "This Godless Endeavor" by Nevermore and I think the title track would be an amazing final song for Rock Band.
It simply has everything. It's amazingly epic and goes through a bunch of different colours from beautiful to melancholy to epic and quite brutally heavy in parts. It's a metal song; however, it's not one that I think would alienate the non metalheads. The vocals aren't growled or screamed but are sung very well and would be a challenge for vocals. There isn't much double kick in the song. The riffs aren't of the tremelo picked variety so they'd be fun to play and it has an absolutely draw dropping solo section which would utilise the new fret buttons perfectly (it's mostly sweep picking and tapping). All instruments would be extremely challenging but in the fun way, not in the 'impossible and annoying to play' way.
I've looked but I can't find a direct download mp3 of the song for you guys to check out who haven't heard it. But those who have heard it I think would agree it would be an absolutely stellar finale for the game.
