Post your ideas for venues for RB here.
I personally think it'll have memorable and recognizable sights in music history, seeing as it covers the 60s-00s eras in music.
My suggestions for venues:
Woodstock (original 60's Woodstock, but 90's one would work too :) )
Warped Tour
Ozzfest
Monterey Pop Festival
Suburban Garage
Karaoke Club
Tokyo, Japan
Atlantic City Boardwalk
Las Vegas, Nevada

North Pole. We can play for Santa, elves, a bunch of Reindeer and a handful of YETTI's.

Although it's all going to be realistic, it would still be cool if it was more like the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, top of the Empire State Building, and the Great Wall of China or something.
I'm sure they'll use actual big stadiums and such. Staples Arena, Madison Square Garden, Banknorth Garden in Boston, etc.

The Royal Albert Hall would be cool

Although I didn't like the stereotypical view of Britain, I did laugh when I played Freebird at Stonehenge. Wembley is I think the biggest music arena in the world, so to have it be immense. Otherwise, more jokey ones would be better. Pirateship does sound fun

I'm trying to think of a realistic and memorable video game location, and all I can come up with is the Warehouse from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.

One place, and one place only. Castle Donington. Crowd and all. Look at that place!! Even 3 seconds into the video, you can almost see how huge it is.

Dunno why but I like underground, nondescript, under your nose but outta sight, venues the most.
Like the basement and the sewer club in GH I and II.

What about Navy Pier for a Chicago venue?

Some of my favorite shows were in old run-down warehouses or factories that had stages added...
There were a few of these in Germany I attended, and they made a lasting impression...better than any amphitheater.
BTW Metallica in an outdoor amphitheater...every song sounds the same, so no outdoor areas, with realistic acoustics, please.

Ozzfest and pirate ship sounds awesome ^_^
And since I'm from sweden I'd really like somewhere from here, like maybe Stockholm Globe Arena? I mean, search wikipedia and look at what bands have played there, for example Metallica, REM, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones etc, it'd be really cool.

How about a Pepperland venue? Man... that would be sooooo trippy.
As for real venues, I think it would be kinda' nifty to see a "rooftop" concert (like the U2 or Beatles shows of legend).

Hollywood Bowl
While I think venues are cool, legendary stage setups would be killer too.
Or how about a mosh pit where you could attend other Rock Band player's concerts and you can thrash around in the pit while listening to them play.

Stonehenge, except with only 1 standing stone that's a bit..smaller. About 18" high.
Behind a circular cage being rocked by fans, a la Scorpions

I know that a home city is for your charachter and is where you play first b4 u get big... well London is 250 miles away from Manchester which I'd prefer on there but America is the only thing that matters in the world *cough* so we can forget having more than one city for any other country, particuarly huge ones like Russia and Australia (which are bigger than the usa)

Ok:
1) The game is made in America and the US is the biggest market for the game, so some bias can be expected.
2) Most internationally big time real life rock bands historically have come from either the US or the UK (for this reason, I'd support more than one UK venue for sure).
3) The US has a larger population than both Russia and Australia, and is larger in size than Australia, so your comment about them being bigger than the US is wrong.
4) That is an incomplete list.
In conclusion: There is a reason bands trying to make it big would love to tour the many large cities of the US... because it's where the money and fame are to be had. So a focus on American venues relative to other countries is both understandable and realistic.

It's also realistic as Detroit is nowhere to be found. No one likes Detroit.

I agree with others who have said it:
Red Rocks is a must.
I also think it would be funny for when you are first starting out or even more established to be playing on the back of a flatbed truck trailer, either sitting still at some county fair, rolling down the street in some parade like Macy's or small town, or slowly rolling through the streets of New York (a la U2).

Good idea, and you made me think of another one by mentioning U2..
There should be a rooftop concert ala The Beatles in "Let It Be" and U2 in the "Where the Streets Have No Name" video. This could be for the end of the career.
