lol, so that thread was directed at me. my post had NOTHING to do with music tastes, it has to do with the quality of funness for this video game. as i said, it is just another song filled with boring power chords, FACT. little to no complex guitar rhythms, simple drums, and simple bass. i'm saying his opinion sucks because it wouldn't fit into this game(but hell, they put the ramones in, so it might be possible)

I don't know those songs, but there is something I want to say.
I think Rockband is a little bit different than Guitar Hero. In Rockband the overall feeling you get while playing a great song with your band matters the most. I believe that you can get such a feeling even if the song has simple chords, because the song can still be awesome.

In Guitar Hero, yeah, everything is about playing the guitar, so I agree with you that in Guitar Hero the guitar part should have complex parts in it.
But I think that Rockband offers more possibilities for different songs. (Hell, hard to say what I want to say, but I think you get the point :p )

It's also just a matter of not getting offended/disgruntled on the internet from what people say (unless its obviously a direct personal attack). First off, its the internet, plain and simple. Second off, people say things in different ways. Some are straight forward without using 3 extra sentences too explain what they posted and others use "kind." Once you understand to not take everything on the net at face value, you too will realize that this: "hi andy from belgium. your requests suck!" is incredibly funny, haha.

I agree and think we should all definitely keep this in mind. HMX has said numerous times that they want people to experience the joy and awesomness of being in a band (not just playing guitar, drums, or singing). Good post there :)
