View Full Version : Career score and leaderboards question

I decided today I bring up my scores that are so horrible because I used a breaking strat throughout the career. I brought my score up enough to go from about 27,000 to 6,000 in career. This is all from expert only, question is, if I start playing hard, medium, and easy, will it tally all those points together as well and add onto my career total? I'm sure if I were to do that, I'd be able to get into the 1000 mark on the leaderboard.

Ahhhh, ok, so highest score only. K, that means I'm gonna go back to the ones I 5 starred first try and get an even higher score on those to get up. Thx

Before you go gun-ho on this, Xero, I figured you should know.

Say you suck at Green Grass & High Tides on Expert [100,000 points]. If you go back and beat it on Hard [and let's say score 300,000], the 300k will be your top score for that song, if you checked for it under solo/guitar, but it wouldn't add 200k to your overall career score.

What I'm trying to say is, the number for your career score that goes on the leaderboards is the one you see as soon as you select Solo Tour, and then your character. You can't increase your overall Expert career score by polishing off songs on Hard.

Hope that maybe helped you a bit.

I was just wondering, do DLC or the bonus songs count toward your career score? I've been just concentrating on the "Standard 45" as not to waste any effort until I got a difinitive answer. I searched the boards a bit but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

...Well...I guess I answered my own question...yet answer is a definite YES as I just the Konks Song and my score definitely rose up at least 35 thousand points. At least that answers my question about the bonus songs.

DLC content dont count but the 13 bonus songs do, so play those to increase your score substantially.

Yep, got the answer from first reply, thx =] I've been raising all most of my scores.

I'm in the 1300s for guitar. Gonna make that better hopefully.

My understanding is that it takes the highest score for each song, so if you have a higher score on expert than on hard, it takes that, and vice versa.

What's weird though is I manually added up my score last night, and it was different from my Tour Score that the game calculated. It was late, though, and I may have transposed some numbers, but I was off by about 17,000 points, which seems high.

You can't increase your overall Expert career score by polishing off songs on Hard.

As far as I know, you can do exactly that. There's no difficulty level for Career score on the leaderboards. It's just your highest score (regardless of difficulty) for each song, excluding downloads and bonus songs (?).

If you have 300,000 on Hard for GGaHT and 100,000 on Expert, it counts the 300k score, not the 100k. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I've upped my career score by going back and getting better scores on Hard songs than I have on Expert.

I'm seeing the same problem. My career score is 16,486 points higher then the sum of the song totals.

These numbers should be match exactly, right?

I remember reading that the score from duels also is used for your career score which is why the totals don't always match. You have to check the leaderboard score not necessarily your solo score to come up with the total. Gotta pull all of those and see if it's right. If anyone else has done this like to know if it's worth the time.

You're correct. If you scored 300k on Hard, but 100k on Expert then it will count the 300k towards your career score. There are not separate career scores for each difficulty. It takes your highest score on each song.

Also, Bonus songs, but not DLC, are included in your career score.

I'm 99% sure this is not the case. Sorry. If someone can actually prove it to be true, though, I'd be quite surprised.

sorry to tell you it is the case......thats the only reason Im ranked in the top 4500 on xbox....I suck at expert but can get hard.... when you look at the leaderboards for individual songs you can see the difficulty via the color of the checkmark black= easy gold=expert, Career simply takes your highest scores from the original 58 and adds em all up :D

(this also helps alot when you have insane solo's on expert that drop your scores, going to hard and 100%'ing it bumped my score WAY the heck up for some songs)

So, the score you see on your rocker profile [after you select your character] can be lower than what your Overall Career Score on the leaderboards is?
I personally can't outdo any of my scores by playing on Hard or lower, but that's interesting to know. Seems like an unanimous truth. I stand corrected.

well regarding the latter, yeah I hear ya alot of songs I can get like barely 5 stars in I can't outdo on a lower rank, plus im used to a high speed so going to a slower scroll kills me before I can adjust.

The only other thing that stings about the leader boards is that if you are not currently online when you get your high score, it will not register on the leader board. My current high score for 10 speed is actually higher than reported, but I didnt realize I wasnt online at the time. :o

I think I'll play some of the later songs on hard to see if I can get a higher score and make that count towards my overall score. Though I doubt I'll beat any of my expert scores with hard scores XP I have almost every expert song gold starred.

Your career score that shows up after you select your rocker is the same score that shows up on the leaderboards. They simply take your highest score, no matter the difficulty, on the solo tour from each song and add them all up.

This is common knowledge among people that have been playing for a while. I'm not sure why it needs to be proven.

I've been playing the game since the morning it launched, and I quickly established that this isn't the case. But whatever. If you all say it's right, then it must be. You'll just have to bear with my lack of "common knowledge".

Do you run two separate guitarists? I think the leaderboard score is tallied from the highest scores (regardless of difficulty as previously mentioned) from ALL of the guitarists on your profile. I could be wrong on that and it takes whichever individual guitarist has the higher career score so I'm not 100% sure on this.

Yep, you're correct. On a song by song basis it takes the highest score over all the difficulties, regardless of profile for the instrument. For the career score, however, it takes the character with the highest career score for that instrument.

Peace,
Ian

Thanks guys. I'm almost positive this is what I was getting confused with. That definitely helps clear a few things up for me, personally.
