Not that I'm against metal in the game. In fact, the heavier songs were my favorite songs to play in the first two games. It seems like other posters have that covered in their fantasy set lists. Here are my suggestions that I would love to see...
"Paranoid Android" - Radiohead - Would seemingly work so well with the new format. It has blistering fast guitars and a long vocal sequence. If not this, Radiohead's "Just" would be great as well.
"Buddy Holly" - Weezer - Fairly simple song that everybody sings along to anyway. Enough interesting guitar bits to make it fun for the guitarist. Yeah, the band's a joke now, but this would be so fun to play/sing.
"Zero" or "Cherub Rock" - Smashing Pumpkins - Would be fun to play and the Billy Corgan impressions would be hilarious.
"Where is My Mind?" - The Pixies
"Summer Babe" - Pavement
"Marquee Moon" - Television (probably have to trim that one down a bit)

Also, if you'll indulge me a bit longer, I wholeheartedly agree with those that say this game needs a keyboard/synth instrument. How much fun would these songs be....

And while it totally doesn't fit with anything in the guitar hero series...

...would be fun to play. Especially if you happen to have those outfits lying around.

LMAO! Isn't that the truth! (Actually, I realize my list is mostly 80's ROCK and metal, but still...especially today's music...it's either metal or it's ???.

We totally have to have something from Flaming Lips. Free Radicals would be awesome. The instrumental drum part of Yoshimii would be freaking amazing.
