These pads were given to me by a friend who knows I am a Rock Band fanatic.
They are a composite of felt bonded to what looks like neoprene.

They are adhesive backed, and super easy to install.

I cleaned the drum surface with some Windex, and installed them with ease.
I installed them in my "Skydrum cockpit".

The size on a couple of the pads was a tad small, but that should not be a problem at all.
As far as the noise levels, well they were cut down by about 75 percent, with all of the high frequency "pop" eliminated.
With the voulme up at our normal loud listening levels, the drummer can slightly hear the impacts, but that is ok, you need to hear it a little bit.
The big difference was with the rest of the band.
The other bandmembers reported that they could not hear the drumbeats at all, which really improved the entire Rockband experience.
As the drummers, my friend and I really notice a better "feel" to the drum pad experience.
We liked the fact that they have a colored "bullseye" in the center of the pad to key your peripherial vison into.
The result is more accurate, centered strikes, with less "rim hits".
One other benefit was, it seems you can beat the hell out of the drums, without damaging them as easy.
We noticed no decrease in sensitivity, even with light cymbal strikes, which was my main concern.
There is a slight increase in the "bounce" that makes it feel a bit more realistic.
I did some research and found their website, if anyone is interested in the accessory.

I am not sure what they cost, but the ease of install must be better than making your own from scratch.
I am in no way involved with this company, just passing on info on an overall good product.
If this kind of product review is not allowed, please delete it.

The site shows $15.99 for solid color pads (whether color-matched to the kit or "pro-style" solid black) and $24.99 for the "bullseye" pads shown in this thread.
Dunno what shipping is.

They look really nice, but $25 is ridiculous.
I know, I know, it takes time and money to make these things....but still

What ever.... I'm getting a pair as soon as they come in stock. I'll do a write up. I have been lurking on this forum since October, guess its time to start to help the crew!

I'm totally getting these. I actually intended to order a set last night, but saw that they were out of stock. As soon as they get back in, I'm getting them.

Foam Silencer Pads = Garbage.

Please tell the folks that it is sponge neoprene you are referring to and not neoprene rubber. There are different kinds of neoprene.

v0lum3 is right, foam is crap. Your best bet is a rubber based silencer be it gum rubber, mouse pad, or real drum silencers.

The first line of the description on the site says "foam-backed felt."
Judging by the photos, I would venture to say that the guy that first introduced this mod to the forum has thrown up a website and is looking to capitalize on his creation.

Just like that one guy McDonald started capitalizing on his burgers. Or how about that guy Craig with his stupid Want Ads web site...
I applaud Harmonix for giving us a new market with so much competition already.
Nobody says you have to buy them.

If you do a DIY mod using mute pads from say a Sam Ash music, it will run about 30$ for (4) 10 inch pads. I know they sell 8 inch pads too but there are harder to find than the 10 inch.
I also did a sensor mod with the left over material from the silencer mod. So this saves you about $5 dollars before shipping and ALL THE WORK IS DONE FOR YOU ALREADY. But if you love doing things and building things or just a DIY type of person, then I guess these pre-built pads aren't for you.

Funny, I AM a DIY person, proven by the skydrum cockpit mod, and bass pedal mod, but I would have been happy to buy these drumshhh pads, the time it saves is well worth the price.
Remember, time constructing mods takes away from playing the game, which is the whole point.
I don't see these pads "wearing out" anytime soon, if they do, I will come back with an update.

You're seriously joking right? I went through college and paid for it myself. 4 years in a University and I was still smart enough to get a part time job or a summer one at that. Maybe if you spent less money on PBR and more on other things you want, we wouldn't have to hear you cry like a girl over the cost of a DVD or trip to the strip club.... $15 are you kidding me? What do you do, eat Top Ramen all day and hide in your apartment with the heat off?
Sounds like someone needed to learn life management BEFORE then went to "collage".

I don't "cry like a girl". I voiced my opinion. Got a problem with it? Go **** yourself. Believe me, I am NOT financially strained. Im in better financial shape than the majority of college students.
If you examine my post carefully....you'll see that I never said I could not afford them. I said the price was too high. Use your brain ******.
Ill have to continue this later though, I have to be at work at two. See there......you assumed I was a lazy non-working college student without knowing anything.

I've found the cheapest and easiest way to do it is:
1. head to Michael's or other craft store, buy the 2mm neoprene self-adhesive pads for $.99 each, and the felt self-adhesive pads for $.99 each
2. Take them home, and find a cereal bowl or other bowl that is the exact size of your drum pads (first cereal bowl I grabbed was 1/8" less diameter than the drum pad!).
3. place pads upside down, grab a pen or marker, place bowl upside down on pad, trace around the outside edge
4. use exacto knife or scissors and cut along line you traced
5. apply neoprene/foam pad to drum pad (clean first!), then apply felt pad to the top of neoprene pad (or like I do, I double-up on the foam pad then apply a single felt to the top
6. use the backing wax paper to rub/smooth all over the pad to make sure everything sticks together and no air bubbles etc present
7. turn on Rock Band, enjoy
8. thank yourself that it only cost $8 and about 10 minutes of time
(I can easily afford multiple sets of these things but I choose to make my own and save a lot of dollars as well as get a nice proud feeling that I didn't cut off my fingers, cut off the cat's tail, stab myself in the eye with scissors/exacto knife, burn down the house, cause a traffic accident on the way to and from the craft store, etc...oh, and make a set of drum pads just as nice as any I've seen offered for sale)

I just got back from Home Depot and picked up a few inches of a 3/8" Surgical tubing. I slid (forced) it around the head of the drum sticks and then cut off the exess.... materials cost me .30 cents lol. Anyway, I was just looking for a cheap fix to lesson the CLAK CLAK of the drums and not only did this work! but added bounce to the set up too! Now I'm sure its not as good as the gum rubber stuff, but for those of you who want less noise and added response.... this is for you! untill the guitar stores replenish the actuals.

What does that stuff look like? I've been thinking of putting something on my drumsticks.

I just wanted to add that I received my Drumshhh Pads yesterday and I love them. I haven't noticed any loss of sensitivity and the sound is GREATLY decreased. There's also a slight increase in rebound, but I imagine that the gum rubber mods still excel in this area.
It's nice to be able to hear the drum track for once, and my band mates no longer get distracted by my playing.
