I thought this would be easy, but it was hard coming up with a list with variety, and I think I may have failed there. Though, who cares, this is just what I'd like to see, not something that has any chance of happening.
60s:
MC5 - Kick Out The Jams
The Stooges - I Wanna Be Your Dog
The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat
Pink Floyd - Astronomy Domine (I'd like to see Interstellar Overdrive, but there's no vocals)
The Rolling Stones - Street Fighting Man
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Purple Haze
Cream - Swlabr
70s:
The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again
Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song
Buzzcocks - Orgasm Addict
Black Sabbath - Sweet Leaf
Deep Purple - Burn
The Clash - White Riot
Gang of Four - I Found That Essence Rare
Wire - 12XU
Television - Marquee Moon
80s:
Husker Du - Something I Learned Today
Bad Brains - Sailin' On
REM - It's the End of the World as We Know It(And I Feel Fine)
Mudhoney - Touch Me I'm Sick
Sonic Youth - Silver Rocket
Black Flag - Rise Above
Dinosaur Jr. - Freak Scene
The Pixies - Wave of Mutilation
90s:
Nirvana - Scentless Apprentice
Smashing Pumpkins - Today
Kyuss - Green Machine
Melvins - Honey Bucket
Radiohead - My Iron Lung
Rage Against the Machine - Bombtrack
Fu Manchu - Evil Eye
Pavement - Perfume-V
00s:
Queens of the Stone Age - The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret
Metric - Glass Ceiling
Electric Wizard - Barbarian
Be Your Own Pet - Electric Shake
Mastodon - Blood and Thunder
Arctic Monkeys - Fake Tales of San Francisco
Bob Dylan - Thunder on the Mountain

Husker Du actually invented emo. Yeah, they were a big influence on early emo bands, but real emo is nothing like Fallout boy and all that crap, so who cares?

I don't like the term/genre "emo" to begin with. Just trying to broaden some horizons out there.

Pink Floyd - Astronomy Domine (I'd like to see Interstellar Overdrive, but there's no vocals) Good choice, I love Piper, and this song sounds really challenging.
The Rolling Stones - Street Fighting Man I'd prefer It's Only Rock and Roll, but that's 70s.
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Purple Haze Over-rated. Listen to it, it's pretty sedate compared to Jimi's other tracks. Also, boring drums. Fire has better guitar and drums.
Cream - Sunshine of Your Love The guitar is so boring for the first two minutes, and it has pretty lame drums and not enough vocals. White Room, Swlabr, or Sweet Wine would be better
Add The Beatles - Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me and My Monkey
70s:
The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again Love this song
Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song Not good. The guitar literally has four seconds repeated for two minutes with no solo. The bass and drums are just as repetitive. Get The Song Remains the Same instead.
Deep Purple - Burn Righteous choice, dude.
That's all I have to say, really.

That's all I have to say, really. I'll concede that that probably wasn't the best choice for a Cream song, but Purple Haze is amazing.
As for The Beatles, most of there songs just wouldn't work for rb, including Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me and My Monkey. That would be more boring than Sunshine of Your Love.
