How to COPY my Gamertag to a Memory unit

Ok,so I just got a memory unit today so that I could COPY(not move) my gamertag to the MU to take it to my friends house,cause they're all getting a 360. So When I go to the memory section of my Box it tells me that I can Move it or Delete it. I dont want to move it because then it takes it off your Box right? My friend mentioned something about having to have something special or what not. Am I doing something wrong?

There is no way to "copy" a gamertag because they don't want you to be able to have it in two places at once. And there's no reason to have it in two places at once anyway.

Yes when you move it it takes it off of your box but that's ok because as long as you have your memory unit plugged in to your xbox then it works just the same as if it was on the hard drive including auto sign in if you have that on for your Xbox. You can even still save on your hard drive and your saves will still be associated with your gamertag even though it's on the memory unit.

Just make sure if your wan to take your game saves over to your friends house to that you MOVE the game saves also then when you get back home you can move them back to your hard drive.

Oh wow. I've thought about getting a memory unit since I go back and forth from friends houses, but I was skeptical to get it since I didn't want to deal with moving saved crap left and right.

I put my Live gamertag on my card with my RB save data and any songs my friends don't have, and leave it in my xbox until I go out.

Alternately, you CAN copy the mem card, but it's complicated and requires special hardware. Datel sells a kit for it. I built my own.

If you get the kit, all you do is move your data to your memory card and use the special cable to copy the data off the card onto your PC. Then reinsert the mem card to your xbox and move it back. Copy the data from the PC back to the mem card and you have two copies. Just don't ever put your mem card back into your xbox because it will merge the data. Also, don't be online with yours and at your friends on Live with your mem card at the same time.

Or just move your gamertag and RB game data to your mem card and remember to take it with you.
