i am a radiohead mega-fan/super-nerd, and also a fan of 'rock band'. knowing radiohead's extensive discography, i have come to realize that a number of songs would indeed be suitable and more importantly fun to play in rock band. i am aware that other people have such a knowledge of radiohead and rock band so i am open to suggestions.
Suggested songs:
- Paranoid Android (http://youtube.com/watch?v=m_mMzOQpe0I)
- Bodysnatchers (http://youtube.com/watch?v=cAIHRIO73e8) (May prove to be difficult to procure, as it is not owned by EMI)
- 2+2=5 (http://youtube.com/watch?v=IMSsFgS3JxE)
Other possibilities:
- Let Down
- Airbag (http://youtube.com/watch?v=oo3ZnHJ0KTQ) (it's even got sleigh bells.)
- Electioneering
- There There (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX5IN3Uxor8&NR=1)
- Jigsaw Falling Into Place (http://youtube.com/watch?v=UKrsBVFsfIQ) (Again, not owned by EMI)
- The entire album - 'The Bends'
Eh, I'd Enjoy it:
- I Might Be Wrong (a bit too slow, unvaried, but i love it.)
- Lucky (http://youtube.com/watch?v=WCerHllhNOI) (again, too slow)

I'd be all over paranoid android.
Same here. If I had to pick a three pack, it would be:
The National Anthem
Paranoid Android
Airbag
Let Down would be super. I'd also get a kick out of No Alarms.
WingsOfSteel

No Just?
Still, I agree wholeheartedly with Paranoid Android and Bodysnatchers.

Yeah, Bodysnatchers and Paranoid Android are easy Radiohead picks. And I might go for "There There".

Couple weeks ago, I suggested the Rock Band Radiohead Edition which simply features all seven albums and no other music.
I'd buy it. I'd even be willing to give the vocals on Fitter, Happier a shot.

I love Radiohead and think that Jigsaw Falling Into Place would make an excellent pick as would Electioneering, Paranoid Android, 2+2=5, and Knives Out.

I like the options given, but I agree with with WingsOfSteel as well.... then again, you did say the whole 'The Bends' album, so I suppose that would cover it. But if I had to pick one song, Just would be a great addition.
If I had to pick 5, I'd go with:
Paranoid Android
Just
Bodysnatchers
Electioneering
There There

Classic. As big of a Radiohead fan as I am, I'd probably buy it too. Start working on that monotone computerized voice, DesiredFX.

From Radiohead I'd like to see "Paranoid Android" and "Karma Police"

another suggestion: Bangers 'n' Mash. it's definitely the heavier stuff you expect of rock band.
Why not just release Ok Computer as an Album. The whole things is Rock based, and the only album that is suitable to play in rock band. It's also considered one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Why not?

After checking out benjibross' profile, I'm even more impressed. Let me get this straight... you're 17 and you're an avid Radiohead fan? I was under the impression that most 17-year olds don't even know who Radiohead is! *lol* I'm 30, by the way... and yes, I still love my video games.
Then again, it seems that Radiohead has quite the following on the message boards on here. I can't wait until they set the dates for the US tour, because they are great to watch live.

Paranoid Android
Just
Karma Police
High and Dry (even though it'd be a little light for guitar)
Anyone Can Play Guitar
Knives Out
Trans-Atlantic Drawl (not a favorite, but the bass player would be happy)
Inside My Head
Jesus, I'm with the other guys, Radiohead Rock Band FTW

Please God yes, Radiohead is probably my all-time favorite band, I would just love some more downloadable content from them. "My Iron Lung" was the very first song I downloaded when I got Live going, and I made sure of that. I've also been dieing for "Paranoid Android" to make a Guitar Hero appearance since the first game, I just know it would fit so perfectly.

17 year olds have usually heard of them but it's quite rare that they can pin a song on them, and usually that song is creep, or karma police. 'in rainbows' is looking to reverse that trend, because really, who hasn't heard of radiohead after what they've done?
and i'll also have to agree with 'Trans-Atlantic Drawl,' nice choice of a B-Side. i'm also going to throw 'Optimistic' out there, but it's a bit on the long side with little variation. 'In Limbo' might be more appropriate.
some great discussion going on here guys.

Paranoid Android would be perfect for Rock Band.
It's definitely epic.

The problem is that Radiohead hardly gets any air time in the US, yet they sell out just about any venue they go to when they play over here. They don't just have great songs.... they have great albums.
*lol*.... on another note, it's hilarious when a buddy of mine and I get together to play Creep on Rock Band. We almost always start before the song telling the crowd "F*** YOU! WE'RE NOT PLAYING IT!*.... that is, given Thom's feelings on the song and refusal to play it at just about every concert.

it's also kind of funny that they include 'my iron lung' as the DLC, as the song directly relates to 'Creep' and is in fact a reaction to 'Creep's' success, evidenced by the lyrics:
"this, this is our new song
just like the last one
a total waste of time
my iron lung "

I love love love Radiohead. My favorite band of all time by far.
If I had to pick a few:
Bodysnatchers
Paranoid Android
The Bends
There There
Airbag
Nude
The Tourist
Optimistic
I Might Be Wrong

If it were a three pack, I'd want:
Paranoid Android
National Anthem
Electioneering
Runners-up:
Airbag (the bass line would be fun to play), but Reckoner would be just flat-out suuuuuue-eat. Seriously, how much fun would that drum intro be to play?

unfortunate but true, especially since they're my favorite albums. the truth is, most radiohead songs are best listened to. however, the ones that do work on rock band (most of OK Computer, and pretty much all albums prior with scarce examples occurring in work after that) would be pretty well awesome.

Lots of songs from hail to the thief would work, and so would a couple on 'The Eraser'. Haven't listened to In rainbows enough yet, but most songs on that are too electronic as well.
DesiredFX
01-16-2008, 11:07 PM
I think very few of their songs are actually "too electronic" because most of them tend to be layered with lots of distorted instrumentation.
Even when there is synth playing, there's almost always guitar, bass, drums and vocals layered in there with it.
I went through and did a quick analysis of OK Computer, and the only song that really doesn't work (apart from Fitter, Happier, obviously) is Exit Music (For a Film)--which is more than half over when anything but vocals or guitar show up.
The rest of the songs on the album have prominent parts for each RB instrument, but an awful lot of the audio would end up in the fifth track. Without that, the song wouldn't sound like the song.

'Where I End and You Begin.'

I would definitely say the whole OK Computer would fit perfect. I love the Bends too but it has some Acoustic songs, which don't work that great in those games, IMO. At least Planet Telex is a Must.
Oh, and please give me 2+2=5, that's such an amazing song!

fitter happier wouldn't work. exit music is purely acoustic for a lot of the song. OK Computer would not be the best DLC album.

I'm so glad someone mentioned Jigsaw Falling Into Place. I love that song and it would be a way to promote the new Radiohead album. Even though I like Reckoner better it would probably less fun to play on all instruments save for the drums.

To sum up my preferences, it's basically more stuff off of the first three albums, which seem to be more Rock Band material imo.
