I'm sorry but Anti-Flag and Rise Against aren't metalcore. You should slap yourself.

Metalcore is horrible, I'm sorry, but making yourself some margaritas in a blender while banging on a trash can and kicking a barking dog is deemed more worthy of being called 'music'.

Plus most people couldn't pull off the vocal aspects of the songs. Plus would the lyrics of the song be written like 'rahrahrahraaaahraaaaar'?

I like mostly all of those bands, but Anti Flag, Rise Against, underOATH, and Alexisonfire are not Metalcore.

Anti Flag is punk
Rise Against is punk/rock
underOATH is just plain hardcore
Same thing with Alexisonfire

Protest the Hero is for sure Metalcore or just plain Heavy Metal. Moneen i have seen live once with Alexisonfire and they did not seem Metalcore.

Again, i like most of these bands but most of them are not Metalcore.

mathcore i believe refers to a band that is highly techincal and uses weird time signatures and a lot of syncopation in their songs. Again, i am not entirely sure but it is my best guess.

I agree that Protest the Hero is Metalcore but i was simply saying that the other bands were not. I didnt want other people to come into the thread in support/against of Metalcore bands to be confused or have the wrong impression about these bands.

I think Darkest hour and Haste the day are pretty fair representations of what the genre is

So many metalcore bands have left the genre though I think its mostly a matter of if they can sing or not

Atreyu turned into regular heavy metal

Trivium turned into thrash metal

Avenged sevenfold turned into regular heavy metal

Etc

I like metalcore, but none of those bands really suit the bill.

When I think of metalcore I think of bands like Unearth, The Black Dahlia Murder, It Dies Today, Darkest Hour, and stuff like that.

Yeah I knew not all of the bands were Metalcore, just didn't want to make a thread with all of that again. But Underoath is Hardcore and Metalcore.

I wouldn't mind seeing some haste the day or killswitch engage. Although the vocals would be tough for most people and the lack of a double bass peddle would mean the drum parts would have to be dumbed up a bit.
