Good album yes.
Best Ever? Only if you're talking about Radiohead only.

Add another to 'not the best ever' category. Very good album, I love it, but not the best.

several things wrong with that statement. You used "crappy" and "Radiohead" in the same sentence. No, If you're that stupid why should I convince you.

Their music isn't designed for radio. Its something you listen to - then listen to again.

I really don't feel like putting the effort into convincing you. And i really doubt anybody else cares either.

Theres already enough proof on these boards that metalheads are both the most outspoken people [often ATTACKING other peoples music] about what music they can't stand, and the ones least likely to change that standpoint on music. So theres not really much of a point yelling reasons at a brick wall when it's already set in its ways.

I'm afraid I have to side with frag on this one. I just never understood their appeal. I bought "The Bends" and it was alright, so I borrowed OK Computer and Kid A from my buddy and they just seemed so overblown and pretentious. And I wouldn't exactly call myself a brick wall either.

I guess if pretentious to you means thinking and creating outside the box. A lot of times it seems like people think artists are just blowing their own horns if they try something different. I mean it's not for everyone, i know lots of people who don't like em which is understandable, they are pretty different. But there are some gorgeous songs on there. Karma Police being one of them.

I was only calling him a brick wall because of past experience. Most of the metalheads here just seem a hell of a lot more closed minded, or at least outspokenly brash and inconsiderate of other peoples taste.

I also like the easy star allstars "Radiodread"... reggae cover of the album. The follow up to their first one (which was better) called Dub Side of the Moon [reggae dark side of the moon].. download that, or at least Time and Money... Some awesome selections there.

This.

Best album ever made.

I understand people saying its not the best ever, but seriously... go listen to it again.

And for those who are asking what Radiohead's appeal is...

Umm... Durr... Good Music

However Radiohead is not for the simple minded that expect to listen to a song once and get what they want. It took me about 10 listens of OKC to fall in love with every song, and for Kid A I had to listen to that sucker about 40 times before I even liked anything.

Honestly, I dont care if everyone likes Radiohead or not. But by not listening to their music, I feel like some of you are doing yourself a great disservice.

And by the way, since when does Radiohead have "crappy radio singles"?

Is Creep the only song you've heard?

So true, that also can be said of The Mars Volta another great band very few people appreciate.

Mars Volta is awesome. Heres my favorite bands: Deftones, Radiohead, Team Sleep, Mars Volta, and Incubus. I was a brick wall. Now ive expanded. I still talk a lot of shniz about bands that other people like. Mostly because i listened to them and they sucked (like AFI).

You havent lived till youve heard Radiohead

If you guys like The Mars Volta you should also check out Isis, Mastodon, Neurosis, King Crimson and At the Drive-In

I agree with all of those except for Neurosis, just because I haven't gotten around to listening to them yet.
And Sushi, you still haven't explained to me their appeal. Simply saying "good music" isn't an answer. If you say something like "the feeling I get from listening to them is indescribable" I would understand, but simply cannot agree with. I'm not here to argue, however, and I'll just chalk it up to personal taste.

And I'm afraid I'm with them both. No offense to any fans out there, cept maybe Fukr.
