View Full Version : Project: Building the ultimate setlist

Alright, this is an idea to try and come up with the real ultimate setlist, based on the people on the forums. Basically we're going to all make a setlist by choosing songs.

1. I know it's unrealistic, but we're going to say that there's 80 songs, 10 tiers with 8 songs apiece, plus bonus songs(maybe more or less depending on votage.)

2. Everyone gets to pick one song to go in there automatically(not too sure if this will work if there's too many people, might change it.)

3. People can suggest songs for other people to vote on. You can vote for as many songs as you like, but can't vote more than once for one song. You can also vote songs down. If a song has <5 votes, it's on the list. You can take back a vote, as well, so don't be afraid to vote.

4. Altohugh you don't have to, if you post a more obscure song, it'd be nice if you could post some method of listening to it as well.

5. Only 2 songs per band on the setlist. You can suggest as many from a band as you like.

6. Songs that don't use all 4 instruments(The White Stripes, instrumentals, etc.) are bonus songs.
Anyway, I'll place my automatically on song: 5/4 by Gorillaz. It's going to be tier 1, because it's pretty easy.

THE LIST:

Thru the Eyes of Ruby looks cool, I'm going to vote for it, just gotta hear it all the way through and figure out where it shuld be difficulty-wise. Leaning towards 4-5 ish, unless it gets really hard in the last few minutes.

Not sure how hard the Jet song is, dont really have much time to listen to it, can someone throw me a number for where to put it.

Adding those two to the list and putting a few up for voting after this post.

Broken Face- Pixies (Here you go. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=GJwqYgpkQfE)
While not too strong vocally, all of the instrument parts are pretty interesting and solid.

I'm A Potato- DEVO (Couldn't find a link)
Constant, strong, rhythmic, minimal synth that can be in the background easily.

Monkey Man- Rolling Stones (Live, but still a good example (http://youtube.com/watch?v=6sSm4pUOIvs&mode=related&search=)
Interesting funky bass work with a catchy guitar line through-out. Drums aren't too good, though.

Three Strange Days- School of Fish (Edited video version, but still good. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=_2rw_XDVfsg)
A great song that gets over-looked a bit, but could be a lot of fun. Bass is practically two notes however.

Maybe more suggestions later.

Crap, I forgot about this. I'm going to edit everything in right now. Sorry folks. Also, you can't really put "anything by a band" up to vote, it doesn't work.

EDIT: Put everything up.

Crazy Train is currently in the lead with 7 votes.
