being someone who hates the Xbox with a passion and is too "cheap" to spend my life's savings on a PS3, i would love it for this game to be made for the Wii. and thinking about it logically, it would make more sense on Wii. at least the drums would.
i don't know what they are planning so far, but on the Wii you could either use just the nunchuk peripheral or a new one for this game and just use the 2 controllers as the sticks. nothing else is needed. just holding different button combinations can determine which drum you are hitting and then you just swing the remote to strike that drum. or you could go all motion sensitive and have set positions for certain drums and just move your hands to that spot as if there is a set in front of you.
as for guitar and bass, it could just be a slightly modified version of the guitar controller everyone is already used to, just with a port to plug the Wiimote into. then just use it like the normal guitar controller. and with the Wii's motion sensitivity, certain guitar "moves" could be counted for points and other things. i know i would be doing guitar spins all the time. and for those that don't know, there are plenty basses that have 5 and even 6 strings, so the same 5 button controller should be used for both. besides, the buttons are more like frets, and i doubt they will make a controller with 24 buttons.

As good as these ideas sound, a music game requires precise timing and accuracy, and it wouldn't work well with motion sensing. I don't know how much hands on experience you have with the Wii, the controllers are great, but not perfect, especially for rhythm games. As for the drums, the "holding buttons" thing wouldn't work very well at all and wouldn't feel like playing drums whatsoever. And the "set positions for invisible drums" would be nearly impossible to calibrate well.
The guitar idea could work well, but with most songs in GH on hard or expert you don't have much time to show off a bit, let alone doing constant guitar spins. The ideas are good, but the feasibility of it may not be so well.

well they've announced Guitar Hero 3 will be coming out on PS2, PS3, Xbox 360...and the Wii and Nintendo DS, so u should be able to use the guitar hero controller for guitars, as for drums...
