PS3, son. Ive been thinking about getting a 360 but i comes down to "Do i want to spend 400 bucks to play Gears of War?". PS3, always, all the time, all the ways. My ID is lessthanthree if you want to play some Resistance or play some games on Home (if you got the beta).

im going to be getting ALOT of cross platform games for my 360, here is why.

the ps3 and 360 cross platform games are usually identicle, although right now the 360 has a slight lead in the online raquet, tho that will probley change when Home comes out.
the only advantage either has on the other in terms of games is that 360 has the acheivement system, and it will by-pass the anoying motion control that the ps3 versions will undoubtedly have tacked on.
and yes, i am so shallow that i will ultimately decide my 60 dollars of hard earned cash on the simple fact that i like to be awarded worthless, nothingful, points. and i like others to go "NO VAI!!! HE GOT TEH SUPER AWESOME HARD ACHEIVEMENT!!!"
cuz i aint got no life like that.

as for the wii, well those versions of cross-platform games are pretty much just re-hashed, dumbed down versions with lowered graphics and tacked on motion control minigames.
the only reason i own a wii is because it has exclusives that i simply can not miss.
just like why i have a ps3, three games Lair, god of war III, and MGS4. thats all my ps3 is worth to me... three games... i dont watch movies so blu-ray is useless to me. and most of the games im excited for are on both the 360 and the ps3, hell even my wii will get more play time than my ps3. thats sad.

That, plus the bright future of awesome games in the works give the 360 an undeniable advantage unless you simply MUST have PS3 exclusives. I'll get a PS3 eventually for the 3 exclusives I do want (MGS4, FFXIII and LittleBigPlanet) but at the moment there's just so much I want for the 360. Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, GTAIV, Call of Duty 4 and Lost Odyssey all out before Christmas!

That is nothing but rumour, as far as I'm aware. I think it likely that it will be ported over, but don't expect it until at least 6 months to a year after the PS3 release.

Why do people keep saying that 360 has such a great line up?
I see Gears of War (which is coming out for PC) now and Halo 3 later
But PS3 has Resistance and Motorstorm and is going to have Heavenly Sword, Lair, LittleBigPlanet, Home(Its Awesome!), Killzone 2, Warhawk,MGS4, Ratchet and Clank, and Unreal Tournament.
I love my PS3's easy to use XMB, 1080p resolution, BluRay movies, Internet Browser(i was surprised to find out that the 360 didnt have one), Remote Play with the PSP, and its free internet play.

That is why i will get Rock Band, Guitar Hero 3, and GTA IV for my PS3
All i need is for Halo 3 to come out on PC

PS3 uses Bluetooth technology, Xbox 360 uses some weird type of wireless technology they invented themselves. So, you need to pay Microsoft royalties whenever you use that technology. So, it looks like you're getting it for the PS3.

I am really surprised on how many people are getting it for PS3. Not because it is a bad system, it is a great console, but because I just didn't think very many people owned them. I would like to get RB for PS3, but I am getting it for 360 because most of my friends have a 360 and I want to play with them online. In fact, I think I am the only person I know out of all of my friends that has a PS3. Oh yeah, I am also getting RB for 360 because XBL kicks PS3 online's @$$.

Kojima has said that he's surprised how quick the Blu-Ray disk gets filled working on MGS4. There's simply not enough room on a DVD for MGS4 on the 360, unless you want some crippled, crappy looking version.

It's not coming.

yeah, i figured it'd be about 3 to 1 in favor of 360. I'm gettin it for 360 becuase I have one, but even if I owned both 360 and PS3, I would still get it for 360 solely for the fact that it has better online capabilites, my friends have 360's, and there are millions of more online players. PS3. Even if I hadn't pre-ordered on *checks receipt* July 12th, it would be fairly easy around here to get my hands on a PS3 copy.

Edit: Also interesting to note a sort of "self-fulfilling prophecy" in regards to to the idea of people buying a 360 because they don't know what to expect in terms of number of friends and online service for the PS3. Through buying a 360, they simultaneously contribute to a world with fewer PS3 gamers :p.

I will say this though. As much as I haven't enjoyed that other plastic-controller-rhythm-game, I've been able to consistently find people to play co-op with online for PS3. I don't have any real-life friends who own PS3s, but if there are a comparable number of people who pick up Rock Band for PS3 and go online, I'm not overly worried about not having people to rock out with.

And I guess the real measure of the PS3's usefulness to me is my current plan to move to Japan next summer for a teaching job. Given how import/region-free-ready the PS3 is, it really is the only system I could conceivably go through the trouble of taking with me.

Kojima was reportedly furious when they did the original port of MGS2 to XBox. I dont it will happen for a long while.
Konami have also gone down as saying it wont be ported for the forseeable future.
