360 Headphone Adapter

Hey guys.

Is there a known problem with the 360 headphone adapter? I plugged it in like so:

Headphone --> Adapter --> Drum set

I can't talk to anybody... I tried my headset on a different game and it worked fine... it's just when I try to use it with the drums. I made sure I pressed it all the way into both the drumset and into the adapter, so it's not a loose wire, and I tried a different adapter with the same outcome.

Is it possible that it's my drumset? And have I been the only one with this problem?

Does the adapter work in the hand controller and guitar? Your Rock Band bundle should have come with 2 headset adaptors, try those as well.

It sounds like the headset port in your RB drumpads is non-functional.

I have the same problem but I cant hear any music..... now I use a wireless headset

Can you hear other people? I have the same problem on my drum set. They say they can hear themselves talking but not me.

And I dunno about my guitar (I suck at guitar, so I haven't played it online), but I'm pretty sure it works with the controller.

Why I asked you to try the adapter in multiple controllers and to try a different adapters in the drumpads is to determine which product is broken, the drumpads or the adapter.

If neither of the two adapters work in the drumpads but the two adapters work in all of the other instruments/controllers then you can be pretty sure that the drumpads are at fault and should be returned.

But good lord would I be reluctant to RMA a good set of drumpads just because the headset adapter didn't work. I've had 2 so far and I hope the 3rd will be good.

P.S. Try fiddling with the adapter in the drumpads, pushing, turning, jiggling, etc to see if you can get it to work. The "record voice for a message" blade on the Xbox is a good place to test headset functionality.
