This is for the EA customer service reps who regularly lurk this forum (Violet, MetroJack, etc.)

Do you know if EA has any intention of extending the warranty for Rock Band peripherals, in light of their incredibly high failure rates?

60 days isn't nearly enough, when people are having to send back multiple guitars that are often broken right out of the box, or drum pedals that break in half as the game's difficulty ramps up. Especially when these people are sharing horror stories of waiting weeks and months for these peripherals. This is especially true of us Canadians, who have to wait upwards of two weeks each time.

Is there a fresh 60 day warranty on replacement peripherals? Perhaps I just don't quite understand how the terms of the warranty work.

Microsoft owned up to the high failure rate of XBOX 360's due to the RROD, by extending the default warranty another two years. Considering that Rock Band costs $170 US, I would hope EA would do something similar - admit there is a quality issue with the controllers, and do what it needs to do it satisfy it's many unsatisfied customers.

I would just like to know if any of you EA reps knows anything about any plans to do this. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

And sorry for rambling. :D

I don't think they even track the 60-days. It might become obvious if you have a record of RMAs though. Guess we'll find out. Some good customer service would definitely help HMX out a lot, so I'm doubting they'll screw you over without good reason. Unless you're Canadian.
