Pedal broken in half, prefer not to RMA...what are my options?

First and foremost, sorry to add to the 100+ threads on drum pedals, but this is somewhat different.

I would really like to invest in something like woodrockpedals.com and what they have to offer. However, I have what we call an "old style" pedal and plankeye only offers mods for new style pedals only. I don't want to express order a new pedal from EA because it'll just break again and I'll have to wait a long while like I did for my two guitars.

What else can I do? Any suggestions?

I've seen people screw theirs together with those aluminum diamond plates that are molded to fit the pedal piece. I'm not sure if that's what you want to consider, but it beats dropping a real bass pedal to play a video game.
