Alternative (indie) bands that rock!

I'm really glad that Harmonix has choosen one music of the best band, The Strokes. Then I'm here to suggest some good songs that can be available in Rock Band:

Arctic Monkeys: I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor; Brianstorm

The Raconteurs: Steady As She Goes

The Libertines: Up The Bracket; Can't Stand Me Now

Franz Ferdinand: The Fallen


All this songs are indie hits, that can be appreciated by anyone.



Edit: The White Stripes isn't a good band to be in the game, because is a "duo".

The Raconteurs are good, I wouldn't mind seeing them in Rock Band, but I like some of their other songs better, like maybe Level or Intimate Secretary. Although I don't know how good they would be for Rock Band.

Ozma would be my favorite, especially since the bass and vocals are interesting, along with theie entire songs. You should listen to Bad Dogs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Eov-PUzoV0&mode=related&search=).

I'd love some Bloc Party, Action Action, Of Montreal (not sure they'd quite fit in RB), Hot Hot Heat, Bang Camaro, Exit the Ordinary, or Actionslacks.

Before you say any of them aren't indie, I've either been listening to these bands since they were indie, or gotten them over indie channels, so step off ;) .

I would second Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party for Rock Band. I'd also like to see Silversun Pickups (love "Well Thought Out Twinkles"), Editors, Pigeon Detectives, Maximo Park, Idlewild, and I'd love the new Art Brut single "Direct Hit". I doubt any of these bands would ever see the light of day in either GH or RB, though.

Yeah, I don't know what should be called "indie", but is the easier way to call this sort of music. But for me, these bands are all rock bands.

But if anyone of you don't know "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor", I think that you should listen to this music (if you like this kind of music). Great bass line, guitar riffs, drums. Brianstorm is great too.

Well, I'll buy a X360 to play this game anyway, but I wish that there's something for Arctic Monkeys in this game.

Kaiser Chiefs would be great too. I just think that Harmonix should give some attention tp "alternative rock", because there aren't many songs of this kind of rock in the game.

Oh, and Mew are great! I love Mew! But I would prefer Am I Wry? No. or anything else from Frengers.

And Arcade Fire would be nice too, although I would prefer Neighborhood #1, or Rebellion (Lies), though the latter probably would'nt be good for RB, since it's so much Piano. Actually, the whole album as DLC would be awesome!

And did I already mention Stars? I think so. :D

Luckily we don't get to hear that song often. The main rock station in Calgary doesn't play it at all, and the more indie station plays it every couple of days.

yeh have the pixies! :), Doolittle is there best album (i love the bass lines) and the vocals would be fun. Art brut would also be fun, but there has to be some Bloc Party (and The Pigeon Detectives if possible)

Cause it'll be easy to sing and its a funky riff, and I haven't heard all their stuff tbh, but that fact doeesn't make Helicopter anyless of a tune :D

It doesn't really matter which song is their best, necessarily. For the game, you need to balance out how well known the song is with how well it would translate to the game. My favorite song from Bloc Party is "Two More Years", but that song would be pretty boring in Rock Band. You kind of need a song that people might generally know and that would translate well to the game.

That is why I've suggested "Helicopter". I love songs like "Pioneers", "The Prayer", "Hunting For Witches", "Like Eating Glass", etc, but I don't think they'd be as good in the game as "Helicopter" which has that big chunky riff and some of Matt's easier drums. "Banquet" might be another option since it was sort of popular for them.

haha not sure The Horrors would be accepted that much in such a commercial game (there a little weird :P), and yeh "direct hit" is a good song but the video is kinda boring. I'd rather have one of there debut album songs, like "Bang Bang Rock and Roll", "Good Weekend" and "Bad Weekend".
