How to Access/Use Private Messages
There is a lot of confusion about how to use Private Messages since they are not currently setup in the Forum tab of the Rock Band community site.
PMs are accessed via the Rockers Home page. You can get there by clicking on the 'Rockers' tab at the top. Once on the Rockers Home page (make sure you're logged in), just click on the 'Inbox' button under 'My Profile' at the right.
You can also bookmark the PM page directly: http://www.rockband.com/privatemsg/
Link an Xbox Live Gamertag to Your RockBand.com Account
Before you begin, clear your browser cache and cookies! You can usually do this through the Tools or Options menu of your browser window.
Step 1: Find the Windows Live ID for your Gamertag
On your Xbox 360 console, make sure you are connected to the internet and signed in to your Xbox Live Gamertag.
From the “Xbox Live” blade of the Xbox 360 Dashboard, select your gamertag (at the upper-left of the screen).
Select “Account Management”, and then “Windows Live ID”.
Take note of your Windows Live ID displayed at the upper-right of the screen under “Current Windows Live ID”.
Step 2: Know Your Windows Live ID Password
If you already know your Windows Live ID, you are all set.
If you have forgotten your Windows Live ID password, you can reset it by visiting the Windows Live ID password reset page (https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx?mkt=EN-US) and following the instructions.
Step 3: Log Out of your Windows Live ID
Check your Windows Live ID sign-in status at http://account.live.com.
If you see an account summary page, you are logged in to Live ID and need to click the “Sign Out” link at the upper-right hand corner of the page.
If you see a Live ID sign in page, you are logged out and good to go.
Step 4: Link Your Gamertag to Your RockBand.com Account
Make sure you completed everything in steps 1-3 and that you have your Windows Live ID and password. Remember, account linking is permanent so make sure your information is correct.
Once you’re ready, go to the Xbox 360 Account Linking Service (https://rps.rockband.com:8000/signin.aspx) to link your account!
Link a PlayStation Network ID to Your RockBand.com Account
Before you begin, clear your browser cache and cookies! You can usually do this through the Tools or Options menu of your browser window.
Step 1: Locate Your PlayStation Network ID
On your PlayStation 3 console, make sure that you are connected to the internet and signed in to your PlayStation® Network account.
On the XrossMediaBar (Cross Media Bar), navigate to the "Friends" column.
Locate the avatar with the white dot to the left of it. This is your avatar; the name to the right of it is your PlayStation Network ID.
Step 2: Find Your Rock Band Website Code
On your PlayStation 3 console, make sure that you are connected to the internet and signed in to your PlayStation® Network account.
Load the Rock Band game.
From the Main Menu of the game, select "COMMUNITY".
Select "GET WEBSITE CODE".
Your website code will be displayed at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Link Your PlayStation Network ID to Your RockBand.com Account
Fill out the fields below and click the "Submit" button to link your account!
Trouble Linking Accounts
If you are having trouble linking your account please try the following:
1)You will need to have Rock Band data attached to your Xbox Live or PlayStation Network account in order to link your account. If you only recently started playing Rock Band, you should give the system at least 24 hours since the first online play session before linking your account.
2) If you can't link the account successfully after 24 hours, clear all of your cookies and close all web browser windows. Start your web browser again, go to www.rockband.com/rockers_home, log in and try to link your account.
If this still doesn't work please send the details of your issue and all the steps you have tried to HMXJohnlok (neither EAxViolet nor I have the necessary tools to resolve this for you).
Leaderboards not updating
It can take up to 24 hours for the Leaderboards to update. Please also be aware that only the top 100,000 scores are displayed.
If you notice the leaderboards are not updating please send a PM to HMXJohnlok.

To let you know, this link: http://rps.rockband.com:8000/signin.aspx is where you go to link you Gamertag to the .com site, but it doesn't work. I've been trying this frackin' thing for awhile and what do I get everytime? The same "Cannot Find Server" message. I understand this maybe a Live issue, but I'm able to access Xbox.com without any issues now, so what's up? I'm getting to the point to write this site off. Good game, bad website...almost usless.

Did exactly what you said word for word, and it doesnt work (and hasn't worked since the new site launched). I get the following two messages every time:
* One or both of the required fields contains incorrect information.
* You must enter a valid PlayStation® Network ID and Website Code to link your to PlayStation® 3.
If it's a site problem, I would be much more comfortable hearing "we are working on it, and it will be fixed by February xx" instead of trying it every few days. I'm positive my information is correct

Where can I get an answer on my problem with linking my PS3 profile to the website?????
Edited: Figured out the problem. I read this somewhere, but didn't realize it until I looked at it again. All alpha characters are uppercase. So, I was mistaken a "9" for a "g". So, all letters are uppercase, the rest are numbers. I hope that info helps people. Lord knows I've been trying to link my profile since they announced it.

I have been attempting to do this for months and nothing works. I have literally tried EVERYTHING that it tells me to do in the stupid useless instructions to no avail. All I get every singe time is "This gamertag does not have any Rock Band data associated with it. Please try again. If you continue to have problems, please read the detailed instructions on the Link to Game page." When that's a load of crap considering that my 360 is always hooked up to Xbox LIVE when I am on it, and I have played Rock Band tons of times, multi, and single player while online. So what the heck is the deal here? When will this be fixed? That's all I want to know, because I know this isn't possibly due to any mistake on my part. Thanks.

Umm ok so no one with PS3 can join?? We paid our $200 too. I'll give it a week or so then this goes back to Walmart. When I shell out nearly 1/2 the price of my system for a single game & it's peripherals I kinda expect it to work as advertised. Call me crazy.

I was able to link mine, albeit after some trouble. Two things to note:
- it wants your playstation network username (your screen name), not your playstation network login name (which is your email address).
- the font they use in-game to show your "website code" is awful.
- - the character that looks like a small, lowercase letter "o" is a zero.
- - the character that looks like a pointy "0" is the letter O.
- - the letters are entered in ALL CAPS.
Hope this helps someone. The 0/O/o discrepancy is just a gross oversight on the programmer's part.

Maybe then i would understand. However, my code has all characters that absolutely cannot be mistaken for anything else. What is the point of a tech support forum if it just gets ignored?

Cleared my cookies and cache and tried to link to site again with my PS3 network Id. Usually I get the "either the ID or the linkcode is entered wrong" msg but this time....what a treat! A new error msg.
You do not have the privileges required to access the requested page. Please try again by logging in to the right.
At least it broke up the monotony of trying to link over n over n over n over n over again.
Address the PS3 linking issue please!!!

I'm having the exact same problem linking my PS3 account as others here. I'm entering my correct PSN name & Rock Band code - though there is a letter in it I'm not sure of, it's either a U or a V, so I've tried the code with both. Either way, I keep getting the "incorrect information" error message. Glad to know it isn't just me, but I'd still like to get this resolved.

Hi,
I also posted this in the 'Can't get link to game to work thread' (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showpost.php?p=307311&postcount=122).
We know a lot of you are having difficulty with linking your account. Ive asked the Harmonix team that runs the web site and we have the following steps for you to try:
1)You will need to have Rock Band data attached to your Xbox Live or PlayStation Network account in order to link your account. If you only recently started playing Rock Band, you should give the system at least 24 hours since the first online play session before linking your account.
2) If you can't link the account successfully after 24 hours, clear all of your cookies and close all web browser windows. Start your web browser again, go to www.rockband.com/rockers_home, log in and try to link your account.
If this still doesn't work please send the details of your issue and all the steps you have tried to HMXJohnlok, as unfortunately neither EAxViolet nor I have the necessary tools to resolve this for you.
Cheers

Go to a forum page, click on "Search", click on "Advanced Search" on the little popup, and put your user name in the "Search by User Name" field. Oh, and make sure you click "Search now" instead of "Go" like I always want to do. :-) You may also want to select "Posts" for "Show Results as" to find your post and not just the thread it's in.
I haven't found an easier way to do it.
HTH
edit: And of course the second after I post, I find one easier way: if you click on someone's user name on their post, one of the options in the menu that comes up is "Find all posts by ___". Of course, you'd have to have one of your posts up in the first place.... :->

I've also edited the main post of this thread, but here is a summery of what to do if you have problems with account linking or with the Leaderboards:
Problems Linking account
1)You will need to have Rock Band data attached to your Xbox Live or PlayStation Network account in order to link your account. If you only recently started playing Rock Band, you should give the system at least 24 hours since the first online play session before linking your account.
2) If you can't link the account successfully after 24 hours, clear all of your cookies and close all web browser windows. Start your web browser again, go to www.rockband.com/rockers_home, log in and try to link your account.
Leaderboards not updating
It can take up to 24 hours for the Leaderboards to update. Please also be aware that only the top 100,000 scores are displayed.
If you are still having difficultyplease send the details of your issue and all the steps you have tried to HMXJohnlok (neither EAxViolet nor I have the necessary tools to resolve this for you).

Well, the last word I got on the PS3 linking issue was on 2/8/08, and basically said that they know there's an issue & it's being worked on. No hint of an ETA on when that fix will come. I've been playing the game daily for 2 weeks now (attempting to link my account daily as well), is there even the slightest possiblity that the stats I've built up with the bands & character's I've created since getting the game will transfer to my online account when they finally fix this problem? I'm not going to stop playing or anything, but its frustrating that such a basic & widespread problem that's been reported by so many users for so long is still unresolved.

I have been trying since I got the game to access this feature.
Until this is fixed I am boycotting DLC.

What about if it's showing bands that do not exist under your gamertag and not the main band that you've put your time into?
Are these bands you've created and then deleted? Or are they bands you have never created before?
If it's the former, it takes time to replicate your data so sit tight and your current bands will show.
If it's the latter (and you are on an Xbox360), someone else's account might have been logged in on the computer you were using to link your accounts. At that point, the browser would've thought you were another user and linked the wrong account.
In that case, we are trying to find an easy solution to relink an account. We'll keep you updated here.

I'd like to ask why I cannot view my own profile?
1) No way to delete/hide characters at the moment. Might be a something we look into for a future feature.
2) How is it not letting you view your profile? Are you getting an error?

It sends me back to the page that says "Welcome Kurumi/carnivore." It does that to anyone who tries to view my profile.
It sends me back to the page that says "Welcome Kurumi/carnivore." It does that to anyone who tries to view my profile.
Okay, it's the "/" in your name. It's causing the page to look for a profile in "Kurumi/Carnivore" and thinks "/Carnivore" is an entirely different directory rather than part of the user name (pfft, computers).
I'm going to have to change it to something else (a dash or an underscore). Just drop me a PM with what you want and we can work something out. I'd PM you, but I can't access your profile page to send one :p
HMXSean, HMXJohnlok, or HMXHenry will probably post an update when it might be allowed again. At this moment, I'm unsure.

I'm going to have to change it to something else (a dash or an underscore). Just drop me a PM with what you want and we can work something out. I'd PM you, but I can't access your profile page to send one :p
Okay I sent you a PM already. I'll await your response. Thanks a lot!!!!;)

I don't believe the PS2 has any on-line capabilities outside of FFXI, so there's no data for the website to synch to unfortunately.

I linked our account (finally got that to work) to the website, 24 hrs ago.
I have 2 problems.
The first is, when it linked us, it only lists ONE band and we have a Few. How do I get the others to show up on the website also???
The second problem is, it has been 24 hrs. and is not updating ANY scores for the different characters (people) we have. They have not changed at all since linked AND we've played quite a bit. Is this a website wide problem or can I somehow fix it on my end????

Help Canīt link my account to the game (PS3). Iīve read the stickie but that didnīt help. The last character in my code looks like an eight but itīs uppercase so iīve tried S, B without any luck. You should really put up an alphabetic key.
entire code: D9BAWZ97A(S, B, 8)
Finally linked the game. seems like 8 is NOT lowercase like the other numbers. Go figure!

I am stuck and don't know what to do.
I have done everything in order to link my webcode to my PSN account. I have opened my ports on my router. I have cleared my cookies. I have entered my WEBCODE so many times and in so many ways (because of the wierd font).
I have contacted EA Support who told me to contact Sony. I have contacted Sony (2 times) who told me to contact EA Support (because they do not support the software, only the Hardware).
I really wish this would work. I love the game and it would be soooo cool to see my stats on the Net.
Harmonix / EA, please help...
Thanks and Rock on!

Why don't the powers that be simply print the alphabet on the site using the same font as the game, with corresponding letter beneath/next to it using a standard font that people can read. Obviously it needs to be a picture so as not to force people to download the poor font from the game.

Hi,
I can't see my RB2 band or characters - I've linked my account following the instructions provided. Is this a known issue?
--[EDIT]--
Unlinked and relinked my account - Now I can see my RB2 character, but not my band.

Is the bold text that showed new comments entered coming back? I can't be the only one who noticed it's gone, right?

Maybe I am not doing something right here? I can make a model that looks like my RB2 character and buy it for $60.00. I assume that if it's making the right model than I am linked and everything is working? Yet I go and try and create a picture (several times and even relinked my account XBL) and stil nothing shows up? I created one and left it at that screen for over an hour and nothing on the meter?
Please help and are others having this issue or can some one tell me what to do? Thanks,

I wished they'd left an option to use the old forum layout or "skin" while they did this beta... test... to put it politely.
If you are going to swagger in and destroy the community forum to recreate it in your image, at least have the decency to reinstate all the previous features and make your new image legible.
Yeah, looks really great with the tiger over there all cut off and cropped.
EDIT: Wow, the forums are really broken right now, anyone seen an announcement about it or anything?

i don't see any of the threads that i posted/created being added into my subscribed threads. how can i get it to work?
Closing this thread as it contains some old data. If you have a question, please search for the question first before posting a new thread about it. That should help us keep track a bit better!
Thanks!
