Its also hard to just shut topics down without looking like a fanboy of the game theyre making, or like a meanieface or something.

A lot of it is just unproductive garbage (NIN SUCKS, RB GOT OWNED, etc). I rarely see topics like those locked which is why Im so outspoken about half the crap I see on here. People may not like it, but I'm not looking to make any friends. Plus half the time they seem to get offended because I disagree with them in the first place (WAT? UR OPINIUN ISNT TEH SAME AS MINE??) and because I and other people raise points that they can't defend their original statement against. I actually love Hammerfall, find them to be one amazing band, I don't hype them quite as much as I used to (Tho' Legacy Of Kings and Hearts On Fire were the two songs I heard first by them).

Yeah, there's a few better bands out there that are better (most notably... Within Temptation *ahem* Yes, those I will mark out for and hype to the moon and back, I'm yet to hear a better band :)), but I'd still put them in my top ten of all time, and if they ARE in the game, it'd swing my wanting to get it on releae day up a notch (tho' I 100% want Rock Band, even if that means not being able to buy GH3 on release day, as my mate will be doing that 'cause he has a PS2 anyway, and hasn't got the cash for RB, so I'll be getting RB, and he's nabbing GH3, so win/win for me anyway :D)

But I don't think Activision could release ANY song that would, by itself, mean RB was down and out, one thing that RB currently has over GH3 is the Full album DLC, with Metallica listed already, and The Who album that's listed. I'm not a huge fan of either band, but I don't think I'll pass on either album. If anything... if the price is right, I expect to be buying every DLC they release, unless I really do detest the band/song.

Of course... something I just thought... in, say... a year after release... I can easily see myself heading down my mates, rigging everything up, and me, him and his g/f all booking a week of work solely to play through EVERY song I have on the thing almost non-stop (barring eating and sleeping... and hell, even the eating may not be necessary as you can eat and miss a couple of tracks you're not fond of, then switch back over while someone else eats).

Also, mega points go out to the first group of people to attempt to busk in the street with this game (I may do so myself, but do it for charity as I work in a charity store)

probably because Iron Maiden isnt power metal. they're early stuff is rooted in punk, everything after that has been experimental prog metal type stuff. to understand that comment you'd have to have heard songs other than their singles. the Rime of the ancient mariner is a perfect example. the only Maiden album that sounds like power metal is No Prayer for the Dying which is a pretty piss poor effort on their part.

So you agree you ignore an entire type of music, simply because they play music that they actually enjoy playing? I, for one, love the fantasy metal, things like Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Within Temptation, Nightwish, Hammerfall, to name but a few, they play amazing music that's not "by the numbers metal" as you put it (It's not to your taste, fine, don't try and put it down in an attempt to look cool, you're doing very badly in that sense.)

The lyrics are interesting, and it's great to sometimes just lie back and listen to the lyrics of the songs.

I'm assuming here (and I don't like making assumptions, and if I'm wrong, I'm wrong and apologize), but at a guess... you're not a fan of mythology type of stuff anyway, which would mean that style of rock wasn't ever aimed at you anyway, while I really enjoy fantasy stuff (Although LotR bores the abba out of me, I'm more of a Warhammer/Magic The Gathering sort of geek), and so obviously the fantasy sort of music appeals to me much more.

Kinda like why emo kids who want to commit suicide enjoy My Chemical Romance, and stupid "chav's" seem to enjoy rap (Not saying Rap's stupid, tho' I admit I dislike it... I AM saying that stupid chav's listen to it tho'), and the really annoying girls all seem to love effing Mika... it fits their lifestyle and what their interests are.

Bottom line is... Hammerfall are a great band, but the fact is they're not a band you enjoy. Deal with it.

you know why I love heavy metal? because of the aggression, musical talent and lyrical content. no power metal band I've heard has shown me aggression at all, no musical talent and the lyrics are more often than not completely ignorable. plus I find power metal vocalists to be carbon copies of themselves. to me it all sounds the same.

The fact Hammerfall are from Europe (Sweden) in fact is meaningless, I'm talking Europe... which is LOTS of countries, where these bands do amazingly well, as opposed to a ton of bands who do well in the UK and America, but fall flat on their faces in Europe. (Admittedly, mainly pop type bands, but a lot of the pop-rock is only heard in the UK and US (and sometimes it dun even get that far, and just sticks to the UK where it's safe, until it dies by album 2... if only The Darkness hadn't attempted America... they may have died earlier))

You dislike fantasy rock, it dun mean it's crap, it means you dislike it, there's a difference. The fact you dislike it doesn't mean it automatically has no musical talent, or lyrical content, it means it has a music style you dislike, and lyrics that you don't want to hear, again, two completely seperate things.

Just because you dislike the music, it doesn't automatically become beneath stuff that you do like. It means you have different tastes.

ya who the hell is Hammerfelt? Are they like DragonFarm? Everyone playing GH3 seems to think Dragonfilm is so awesome, and I think they are just hearing what us old guys heard in the 80's, and it was called Yngwie Malmsteen or some such nonsense.

So....I just watched this "epic" Hammerpoo video on youtube and I must say that it definately does NOT rock at all. I actually thought I was watching a parody of all crappy metal bands. You should seriously watch the "hearts on fire" video. I laughed. I'm so glad I'll never have to see/hear it again.
