Okay so that was pseudo-french, but how many of you have started practicing for the vox? Last night I had to blast nevermind and sing into a storage room. Cause I'm insecure like that. But I'm definitely looking forward to singing now, although the chorus of Teen Spirit is going to rape me for the first little while. Cant hit the high note.
Anybody else been getting ready for it? What are your thoughts on how they will scale difficulty from easy -> expert? Just think it will give a bit more leeway for being off pitch?

The only time I'ma be singing is when im drunk and surrounded by drunks. Having a good singing voice for that just ruins the atmosphere, you gotta sound bad for it to sound good.

HA! This just reminded me of Saturday night. I was at a party, wasted of course, and there was about 5 of us singing Don't Stop Believing lol.
Oh God, if I could hear what that sounded like...

Well aside from gettin the flu last week and not getting much sleep lately (I have a 3 month old daughter reeking havoc but I love her!!) my voice is hella crappy right now!!! back in the day I did pretty well on the karaoke revolution games. My latest claim to fame is gettin 50000 points on More than words by Extreme on the hard setting. Try playing those games like singstar and karaoke revolution to learn how the game picks up your voice. I will definatly be looking forward to singing my lungs out in this game! :D

That basically sums up my take on singing in Rock Band. Other than that I might sing when I'm alone, I'm pretty sure my voice is terrible, but it doesn't stop me from singing once in a while. Most of the time I'll focus on playing the instruments and let everyone else who wants to sing, sing.

Only going to sing songs I know by heart. Particularly Go With the Flow, I can mimic Josh Homme's voice bearably.

I've been practicing on Karaoke Revolution 1-3 a lot the past few weeks, I think it's helping on those songs at least... I've gotten quite a few platinums on the highest difficulties.... I've also sang to the announced songs and practiced stances in front of a mirror (if I'm going to play the game w/ 3 other people @ a time, I'd might as well look cool doing it...

I was never the Karaoke singing type of dude, but after working on Rock Band I don't care how bad I may sound, it's just pure plain FUN to sing! In fact, I even worked up the courage to do real karaoke at a bar. I wasn't very good, but that doesn't matter, the chicks still dug it and I got some high-fives.
I highly recommend playing Vocals in RB. You gotta try it at least once. No one really judges you on your singing. It just matters you got the guts and confidence to do it.

Did you find that your technique changed after beginning? Because I know for sure that I used to think I was singing, but I wasn't even filling my lungs or using any power when trying to hit notes. I kind of just talked on pitch for lack of a better explanation. I found once I started experimenting with my lungs and the power behind them I sounded completely different.
I think everybody has the ability to sing. It's just finding your range and your sound that's the hard part.

I agree, when I sing under my breath (usually when people are around ;) ) I sound terrible. But when I am alone, and I really try to sing, I feel pretty confident with my voice. I look forward to RB's vocal game; it should help me get better, and raise my confidence even more.
