View Full Version : Now that I think about it... the replay value will be awesome

We all know you can go through each track (singing, drums, etc.) for each of the songs, but I'd almost forgotten about the effects switch on the guitar. There's an extra four brand new sounds for the guitar playthroughs. And then, of course, you can switch the guitar sound during gameplay (right?) for even more uniqueness. These forty licensed songs are seeming like more and more just because of all the effort that's going into the gameplay.

I don't know if I'll ever get bored with the main set list, let alone bonus songs and the DLC.

I dunno how much replayability the sound effects thing will add. It'll be cool though.

For someone starting off, they have 40 career songs to get though on 4 instruments, on 4 difficulty settings, plus Co-Op, plus Vs mode. There's already plenty of replayability.

Yeah, I guess most people won't bother to do much with it, but I personally plan on hearing each of the songs a different way whenever possible.

I think I remember them saying you could only activate it at certain times? Solos or soemthing?

With GH2 I always try to utilize the whammy as much as I can, and not just hammering it down.. I try to do the old whammy dives and just add as much flair to some of the long notes as I can to keep myself occupied, lol. You can actually make some pretty cool notes with it if you learn how to use it good.

It is a part of the gameplay too, but not exclusively. I believe there are times where you can pick up a power-up that changes the sound for a while. I'm fairly certain that the actual switch on the guitar will control the sound type when you're not using one of those power-ups though.

So I think the primary control for the guitar sound is hardware related with that switch, and then the gameplay can change it if you choose to activate a power-up.

I'd love it if someone from HMX could confirm that the switch on the Strat is what controls the FX during normal gameplay.
