Double Bass Drum

I think it's time Rock Band stepped up to offer a chainable kick pedal. This would allow those drummers who prefer a double kick drum to use one. This may only be a strain on the game as far as registering the fast beats but the hardware should be simple. No need to re-release the original single cable foot pedal. Just create a new one which take an IN and an OUT so you can chain the one that comes with the game to the new one. Both would register beats down the same cable. Simple easy and much more realistic. Plus this could help to increase the song selection since I am sure a lot of songs using double bass have been ignored because of difficulty.

im thoroughly with you. i love my iron cobra and i want to recreate this in game... i also want hot for teacher. but... i feel as if a simple thing like a headphone splitter could do the trick, they could even sell the bass pedal separately... i'd buy one... PLEASE GIMME MY DOUBLE KICK!

mods, can you start locking these threads? it really doesn't serve any purpose to have *another* "wwaaaaahh we need double bass!" thread *every* *single* *day*.

Unfortunately its very unlikely that EA will realease a double bass pedal. It has already been tried using a splitter.

It doesnt work out too well because of how the pedal functions. It uses a magnet as a switch to close a simple circuit. You have to let go of one bass pedal before the other will register. It actually ends up hurting you than if you just use one pedal.

If EA released a pedal with just a splitter to plug in both to the drums, they would have to recall all the previouse pedals to be replaced with the new version, as well as make a patch for the game to allow the new pedal to function properly.

Economically its not a very smart choice for EA and that is why I doubt a double bass pedal will ever be released. Maybe you can put your hopes that it will be introduced in a future game.

*sheds a tear* ok... good point. i wonder if i should just get my lazy bum arse up and play my real kit and make some noise...
on a side note, how would they make a song with double bass for the DLC, because plenty of people are requesting them... if one should be chosen, will the "left kick" be omitted?

yes.

they already do this in several songs, one in the game (Nightmare in the bonus tour) and several in DLC, where triplets that are played in the real song with a double bass (or faked in the studio) have the middle hit removed.

A couple of threds down GreyFoxx says about a patch and recalling the kick pedal that came with Rock Band. Well in my personal opinion, they should make the patch put it over the network and SELL a double bass pedal! I don't know that everyone would be down to buy one but I sure as hell would!!!! It would be a good idea to generate yet more money from this game. I don't know about the rest of you, but this game has sucked me in!! -LOL! I've purchased just about every song off the Playstation Network and I still want more, I just can't get enough of this game

By the way anyone down to try and get them to put some of Green Day on this!I'm thinking like the Dookie album! Yes, the whole album- lol
