I just heard Blister in the Sun the other day for the first time in a long time and MAN would that be a great song for rock band... it has drum solo parts, guitar solo parts, the singing is fun as hell (I busted it out at full volume in my car of course) and there's some decent rhythm guitar in there. It's the full package and it'd make for a great DLC song!

woo!

Blister in the Sun is probably the only song I know by them, but it's a nice song. Would not mind it in Rockband.

Ah, yes, now that you say it, I know that song too! It's okay. Well Violett Femmes is not my Most Wanted Band, but like I said, I would not mind having them in the game.

I had no idea Gone Daddy Gone was a cover! I love the Gnarls Barkley version... I'm gonna have to go see how good the violent femmes version is now. I honestly thought they were just a one hit wonder type band hehe

I F*cking Agree.

Their first album would be bloody brilliant as DLC. It's amazing. It's got Blister in the Sun, Add It Up, Gone Daddy Gone and my favourite Promise.

One of the great under-rated 80's bands. Back in the day, my band (and every other band we knew) covered "Add It Up". That was a staple in every band's set. Another really cool darker song by them is "Children of the Revolution" that came out in 1985. Really good driving guitars, funky vocals, and a pretty easy marching drum beat.

Definitely agree on that. Plus, it would be much different compared to the other DLCs. I'd *love* to be able to play & sing Add It Up.

Their first album would get more play in my house than the rest of the songs on RB 1 & 2 combined.

Thank you. "American Music" would be a must. And "Held Her in My Arms" and "Gimme the Car." "Waiting for the Bus" is hilarious.

I'd buy any Violent Femmes pack. I just don't know if any of these young ones know who they are.

Add it Up, Blister in the Sun and Kiss Off would be one of the best three-packs ever released. The entire first album would be great, too. I haven't heard anything they did after, that, though. I heard it wasn't that great, so I haven't bothered to hunt any of it down. Any reccommendations?

I would be all over a VF pack. I saw them open for the Cure once, and if that guy could sing *or* play guitar they wouldn't even be as good. :)

Seriously though, I want more songs from bands with bad singers. I'm a god-awful singer but I could sound okay singing the Femmes.

I'm only 15, but I remember sneaking out of my cousin's baptism when I was 13 and listening to their entire first album on my iPod in the bathroom. Needless to say I would download it.

Please Do Not Go would be absolutely amazing in RB. That Bassline is one of the best ever and the Bass solo is absolutely awesome, too. A three pack with almost any other two tracks from the first album would be fantastic.

Everything off the First is great and is a must buy.
Good Feeling is one of My favorite songs, it might not be good for RB but I love it.

An emphatic 'yes' to any song by the Femmes. Blister in the Sun is an absolute must.

The more I think about it, the more I could see their first album as a full download for RB in the near-future; it's iconic, highly influential, and one of the most consistent records I have ever heard.

Violent Femmes would be superduper fun. However I think I have to say I do prefer Gnarls Barkley's cover, maybe because they are on my top 10 of bands or whatever you'd call them. I'll call them a band for the hell of it.

Heck, I'd take the Femmes' cover of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" at the very least. "Add It Up" would be ridiculously fun for vocalists though, and EVERYONE knows "Blister in the Sun."

Would love to see the Violent Femmes but almost all the the drumming in almost all of their songs is purely snare drum play. Wouldn't exactly be too fun on rock band.

It's nice to see American Music on DLC this week... but the entire first album is RB-worthy. There's not a clunker in the bunch. Of all the albums I had as a teen, this is the one that by far got the most play (with Jane's Addiction: Nothing Shocking a close second). My friends and I knew every word to every song.
