I start out like a good citizen searching for an answer to my sound issue with rock band. I go to the support site, search the forums nothing.

I then post this on this forum and receive no response:

Following that I created a support request through the tech support website, here's what I wrote:

I'm using Dolby Digital 5.1 with the enhanced Bass on. The volume of the the instruments is 100% and the volume of the background music and all other things is set to 60%.

Whenever I use the whammy bar when playing guitar I get a crackling, static sound which is very noticable to all who are playing. I've posted on the forum and received no response.

Here's the response I got:

Hello David,

Thanks for contacting EA Technical Support. I do apologize for the difficulties which you have encountered with Rock Band for PS3.

- What have you tried so far to resolve this issue?
- Did the game work before without any issue?

Please try some troubleshooting steps below.

There are multiple factors that attribute to the guitar having issues with your gaming experience. You may have issues with the guitar buttons or strum bar, the wireless capability, or the console itself.

Try playing with the guitar plugged into each of the controller ports on the console.

Note: Please make sure that you have properly connected the guitar to the console:

Plug the wireless adaptor into the USB port.
Press the sync button on the wireless adaptor.
Press the button on the wireless guitar.
The guitar should now be properly connected to the wireless hub.

If the guitar does not work:

There is an issue with the guitar itself. Please replace the guitar through our http://support.ea.com/rockband.

Update as of November 28, 2007:

Rock Band Guitars:

Many of you have contacted us regarding your guitar controllers. As sometimes happens when new products first go into manufacturing, we discovered an imperfection with the strum bar in an early production run of guitars that were shipped at launch. We want to inform you that we have since identified and fixed the issue in all subsequent production runs of the guitars. If you are experiencing a problem with your guitar or any of your other Rock Band instruments, follow the steps outlined in this FAQ to make sure your guitar is set up properly.

If you are still experiencing difficulty, please visit the http://support.ea.com/rockband to begin the process of requesting a replacement guitar. Harmonix is dedicated to creating 100% customer satisfaction and to those of you who've encountered any hardware issues, we are sorry for the hassle.

Should you require further assistance about this or any Electronic Arts games in the future please visit our website and review our extensive Self Help knowledgebase (http://support.ea.com).

Thanks,

Rain

As you can see this guy didn't even read my support request.

I'm also getting emails from EA stating that they haven't received my replacement guitar (totally seperate issue). I kept the tracking number and receipt which shows that it was delivered and signed for by some guy named Scott.

Could you please step up your support here and help me with this issue?
