Video Game Music DLC?

What are the chances of downloadable game music happening? In my opinion, it is some of the best music out there.

Especially classics like Wily Stage 2 and most Mega man music(early stuff from nes/snes days).. early sonic music, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, and especially stuff like what Metroid Metal has going on, check it out : http://www.metroidmetal.com - this would be totally awesome to rock to.

I know there is probably no chance of any of this stuff happening but I can fantasize.. and I hope it is at least being considered.

I doubt it's likely to see any VG music in Rock Band. Not much of it has vocals

You'd need to ask the different game companies for the song licensing, and you also need vocals, which rarely exists in VG cover music. There's The Protomen, and...uh...yeah. I'd love to see something by The Kode (http://myspace.com/thekodesecret) or Powerglove (http://myspace.com/vgmetal) but it's not going to happen.

I agree with Akaymay. Very rarely, if at all video game music has lyrics.
Sorry for going off topic, but WOW! That guy playing the Zelda song rocks, that must have taken him a while to make that video. I'm going to youtube right now just to give him 5 stars!

The only way I see it working (and I reeeeally reeally hope this happens) is if they replaced the vocal line with another guitar line (going sideways).

I would absolutely love to play stuff by the Minibosses, but I'm not sure if this fits with the Rock Band concept since there's no singer.

meh. I really don't think every song in the game should NEED vocals.. thats one thing I won't like about rock band, and one edge GH3 has (if Harmonix decides that ALL the songs need vocals). that decision would rule out plenty of awesome songs.. but hey..it's the game, I guess.. there's always GH3..

I hope there will be... I would love to see all the MegaMan X songs in there or the boss theme from FF7
