I haven't heard any answer. I can tell you about my two and my friend's boxes though.
Box with early nov date = EL. Box with 27 of Nov = EL. Box with 16th of Dec = QM. There's some overlap in the dates and models though. I bet some 16th Dec boxes have ELs in them.

If you don't beat the crap out of the drum CONTROLLER, it won't break. I find it hilarious, and ******ed that people think that everyone is having an issue with cracked pads. I even read one post where someone used the back end of the drumstick, and couldn't figure out why his pads cracked. Gee...I wonder. Use common sense, and play the game like it cost you $160. Use only the amount of force it takes to consistently trigger the sensor and you'll be fine. I've had my EL set since XMAS, and not one dent or crack. Also, I can go into the practice mode on Expert and get 100% on the roll at full speed. If the cracking was really an issue, a TON more people would be coming to these forums to post about it. If you think you don't play too hard, then think again. They don't crack for no reason.

My box was marked Oct 24th, and I have played the **** out of my drums, and I don't really hold back, especially on a good night of drinking with 3 friends, and you turn the volume way up and beat your way through a song... Seriously, my EL set has seen alot of play, and I just can't imagine how you are going to put a stick through one of the pads. As far as I've read as well, the EL sets are more responsive and work better than the QMs out of the box.
I am scared for my pedal, but it's been holding up well as well.

My box was dated November 7th, and I'm in the same boat as you. EVERYTHING has worked flawlessly. Even my guitar. My EL drum set is incredibly responsive, and I never get any dropped notes even on long rolls or combos. I'm still on my first pedal, but I did get EA to send me the newer one with the better sensor as I didn't feel like my original registered all the bass parts. Apparently, we're smarter than the average bear and take care of our $160 "game".

Are you sure about the dates? Because I got my RB bundle the day it came out and I had a QM set...

Nov 14, 360 bundle. QM drums with V2 pedal. I've had no issues with drums yet. It does have a loud vibration though.
I did have to send in my guitar due to double strums when down strumming.

... you know, maybe V1 & V2 pedals and the EL / QM drums are from 2 manufacturers producing them in unison... because my set was from Dec 1 and is an EL with the V1 pedal.
That would explain why both QM and EL drums are still being distributed through the RMA process.
If this is true, then you probably have 1st & 2nd gen EL and 1st & 2nd gen QM hardware... which then makes everything more complicated.

Like I said, there's some crossover between them. People on release day got both types of drums. The question is, if boxes manufacturered today have both types of drums, I'm thinking no.

Two more of my friends FINALLY took the plunge and got Rock Band for the PS3. One had a set dated Dec. 11th 07, and the other was January 3rd of 08. Both got ELs, and great working guitars. One was bought at Circuit City in Knoxville, and the other was bought at our local Blockbuster Video here in town. I was there today to pick up Saw IV, and all they had left were 360 bundles but they were all January dated sets. Both EL sets seem to work great, but one of the blue pads on one of the sets rattles a bit when you hit it. Took the drum head off to see if it was the sensor rattling around, but it's in the base of the drum head. Anyone know what that is?
