Oh, I definatly know mine. It was when I beat YYZ on Expert and on PERFORMANCE MODE!!! That won me the contest at my local Gamestop.

By the way, if you dont know, performance mode is where they take away the fret bar, score, and rock meter. All that shows is the characters and stage and stuff.

Oh yeah and 5 starring misirlou. Took me probably 50 times straight. Got 196000-200000 or just under the 5 star mark soo many times and then finally I hit the middle section perfect and got 220K.

Being a judge at a local GH2 competition.
It's poetic that someone who sucks as bad as I do should judge others' performances.

Playing GH for the first time, beating Hanger 18 and Free Bird b2b to finsish GH2, or wowing the people at Gamecrazy when I played GH2 infront of them.

When I 5* Cowboys from Hell for the first time it was quite a memorable experience, as the song finished I knew I had done it and when the newspaper screen showed I shouted with joy. All the people rushed the stage and lifted me in the air as I gave a thumbs up to my friend, then the credits rolled. Good times.

FINALLY beating "Cowboys From Hell" on Expert. I literally spent DAYS trying to beat that song, and once I did, I felt great. Played "Bark at the Moon" and the solo caught me off guard so I failed it only once, beat it my second time through. But CFH, I literally failed that song probably close to 100 times.

Winning a Best Buy competition by having the highest score on Fat Lip on medium, and then buying the Rush in Rio DVD with the 25 dollar gift card they gave me.

Yeah, it wasn't much of a contest. I felt bad for breaking the spirits of ten year old kids.

Its either 5 starring Misirlou or Jordan. But at that point i was already really good at the game. The 1st time i 5 starred freebird was pretty awesome. I didnt even know about hammerons at that point

I was at BestBuy watching some people play GH2.

This one kid probally around 9(I was 14), He played Madhouse on Medium and got 87% notes hit, His friends were all praising him and stuff... So I give a little chuckle, and he gets cocky and turns to me and says "Lets see you do better punk!"...By this time I had already beaten my preordered copy of GH2 on Expert.

So I play Madhouse and pick Expert, He looks at me and says "YEAH RIGHT!".. So I play the song and finish with 99% notes hit on Expert and he walks away from his friends and quietly says "Aww man..You suck"

That was the hardest I had ever laughed in my life.

Well, my GH1 days were just on easy/medium (friend has it), but for GH2 I'd say my top moment was beating Free Bird on Expert, felt amazing. I only have Jordan to beat out of all the songs, but I doubt that will happen soon.

I'm also pretty proud of getting through GH:80s only failing once (Play With Me, beginning kind of caught me off guard).

GH3 has a couple great moments. Finally beating Lou on Expert after a thousand tries was really great, but just a few weeks ago I finally got through TTFAF, which also felt great.

In RB, I'd say 5 starring all the songs (GS about 3/4) on Expert felt pretty good.

In RB2 beating all the songs on sightread besides Visions (only had to retry once).

I started playing on my friend's PS2 on easy, thinking medium was pretty crazy at some points. Amazing how far I've come.

My only epic Guitar Hero moment (for I only very briefly ever owned any Guitar Hero games) was blasting the Top Gun Anthem through my house when it came out and having my father agree that it was awesome.

I'll leave it open since it's led to actual discussion (sort of), but it definitely is some serious necroposting, something that should not be repeated *hint, hint*.

I thought necro posting only referred to threads that are no longer relevent and/or are stupid?

I think a more accurate description would be dragging up an old thread simply for the sake of bringing back an old thread.

You'd have had to hunt for this sucker with all the other "best moment in 'xxxx game' here" threads, so you know he just went to the last page, picked a thread, and typed a reply to it.

I was always under the assumption "Necro Posting" was just bringing back threads that have been way past their prime (i.e. this one. Didn't realize it was started on August of '07)

I think that it's OK to start a new thread once the thread's been dead for 15 months.

I think a safe rule of thumb is that if a thread's older than a month, you're better off starting a new one unless you're directly referring to a post in that particular thread. Otherwise you'll more or less force people to read through an entire thread that may not be that relevant to your post (or at least not that necessary to read).

An epic Guitar duel on Freebird with my friend. Every time I broke combo, he would shortly after. It was neck and neck all the way through and I think I lost by about 300 something points. During the solo, we played back to back, which was pretty awesome.

I don't even have GH:WT~ but the Verizon Wireless that's next to my local Gamestop was having a competition~ so I figured, why not? I'll try my luck.

Turned out it was just me, my sister, her friend, and this other kid. I knew I would beat everyone except that one other kid~

First song was Hot for Teacher on Medium, my sister failed out~
Next Stillborn on Hard, her friend passed but didn't score high enough

For the final round it was Eye of the Tiger and Trapped Under Ice on Expert.
I had failed Trapped Under Ice when I tried it earlier, but I somehow pulled it off and got a higher score than the other kid~ That was just awesome. I don't know how I did it.

That other kid was like maybe 12~ you could tell he's been playing the game all the time and everything~ and me, who doesn't even have the game, beat him~ lol (he was good though)

Won an autographed Donovan McNabb Eagles mini-helmet (though I'm a Giants fan)~ and even got a free Rock Band 2 t-shirt out of it. Not to mention there was free pizza. :)

That's my story~

Haven't done any competitions yet, but as far as I know, I'm the best plastic-guitar-player in the Galveston area, so maybe I should. Of course, I'm probably eating my words, cuz I could swear one of the major Scorehero guys lives around here.
Favorite moment was playing through the entire easy career with my friends(two on frets, me on strumbar) on Guitar Hero 2, and then playing Laid to Rest. Beast.
Second favorite moment would be beating Through the Fire and Flames on hard at 3 in the morning. I was at my friend's house(with another friend and a fourth one on speaker phone) and I just kicked through it. Unfortunately, I saw Dragonforce at Mayhem Festival the next day. Karma's a *****. But that was the moment I made the leap from barely scraping Expert to doing really well. Now my only real obstacles are GGaHT, RtL, and Visions.

When I was hanging out with one of my friends on New Years Eve around the time Guitar Hero first came out. He was playing "More Than a Feeling" and literally tore my room apart by rocking out so hard. My Christmas lights came off of my ceiling, my bed got pushed a good foot, and my PS2 fell a good 2 feet onto the floor making the disc fly out.

Yep... you cannot make that story up.

Finally 5 starring The Trooper on 360 GH2, thus earning the "Start a real band already" achievement. That song haunted me for at least half a year, I could not do those chords after the galloping green triplets, but I finally figured it out...

Figuring out that you don't need to stretch your pinky to hit orange

Beating TTFAF on expert

Finally figuring out how to tap the intro to TTFAF

5 starring TTFAF

5 starring Raining Blood
