View Full Version : Microphone should double as other wind instruments

Forgive me if this has already been brought up, but wouldn't it be amazing if the mic could double as other wind instruments, such as the harmonica, sax, flute, etc? You could "play" them by humming or whistling into the mic, while the on-screen cue tells you at roughly what pitch you should be humming. It would add another layer of fun to the vocals section, and would serve well for the sections of certain popular songs that have wind instrument solos

Hehe, I know it's out there, but I dream of playing the entirety of Thick as a Brick, and I imagine the singer would end up bored out of his mind for most of it. It would also make it a lot easier to put songs such as Money in, where there's a prominent sax solo where most other instruments are left out.

Harmonica is a great idea! I don't think they want people passing out though lol It takes a lot of skill and talent for wind instruments I think.

But with old school classic rock, I think it suits well!

I don't know if that is the best idea, it seems to me like that would be forcing the mic to do a lot of what it really isn't made to do, and would just feel awkward and not intuitive such as acting as a tambourine or cowbell.

harmonica would be pretty cool for bands like Clutch.

my sister went to a blues thing the other day, and a guy played the devil went down to georgia on the harmonica, i wish i could've seen it
