What are some songs you would like in Rock Band that would be absolute hell on the endurance front? I'm talking 15+ minutes, here. The hardest part of this would be finding songs that don't really trail off into meaningless jams, but continue to keep each member of the band entertained for the entire duration.

Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick (yeah, that's right, the whole thing) - total of around 40 minutes
Allman Brothers Band - Whipping Post (as performed on the Fillmore East album) - total of around 20 minutes
The Who - My Generation (as performed on the Live at Leeds album) - total of around 15 minutes
Yes - The Gates of Delirium - total of around 20 minutes

Maybe I'm just insane, but I think it would be incredible to just go at it for the better part of an hour.

The Mars Volta- Cassandra Gemini(its broken up into 5 parts in most versions, but it goes all together as a 32 minute song)

Opeth- Black Rose Immortal(20 minutes)

NOFX- The Decline(18 minutes)

How about instead of a REAAAALLLLLLLYYYYY long song, you just make an entire setlist out of playing the entire Pink Floyd album- Dark Side of The Moon?
All of the songs are pretty much connected, most have guitar solos, a very distinct bass sound, and entertaining drums! :D

Sleep - Dopesmoker. (63 and a half minutes of pure stoner bliss)

Seriously, though, Freebird was enough of an endurance test. Anything past 10 minutes is pushing it, imo. I guess they could have Reeeeeallllly loooooooong songs as DLC for all you nutters that want them.

The thing is, I don't really see Freebird as a very large endurance test, it never really tired me out. The songs that had me shaking the kinks out of my hands were Misirlou, The Beast and the Harlot, and Six. And even then it was usually my strumming hand, since you just had to play so fast without using hammer-ons or pull-offs.

I mean, the Freebird solo actually requires very little strumming, at least for me. I can see why it would be difficult for some people. but as a bass player myself the most important part is to be able to play accurately over a long stretch of time.

I dunno, it just seems like the sort of thing that bands should be tested on at some point. Though you can certainly go over the edge... I just want the absurdly long songs so I can satisfy my insanity. :D

yeah, freebird wasn't exactly a relaxing easy song but it didn't tire me out as much as misirlou, six, and psychobilly freakout

Meshuggah - Catch 33 (47 minutes)

I would never clear that song, I'd grow too tired...
