WOOT - snapped my pedal in half lovely

I only play barefoot to. I just finished "I Fougth the Law" on expert and low and behold pedal is in 2 lovely.

that happened to me a week and a half ago...it sucked, but I taped it back together until my new one came in the mail

Mine snapped while playing barefoot as well. I used some duct tape for a temporary fix but when i took it off it left a good amount of residue. I removed it but there was still traces left when i sent it in. I hope I don't get a message saying it was abused.

You won't, also don't feel afraid to try to splint your pedal back together while you're waiting on a warranty replacement. I think you should've poured a fair amount of fake blood on the pedal just to make sure ^.^

I believe HMX have said they won't make any trouble on warranty returns if you jerry-rig a fix to keep using it until the replacement shows up.

HMX are pretty well aware that the pedals are just way too prone to snapping, so they're not going to beef too much about returns of the pedals.

Personally I don't see the point of returning it as the replacement will inevitably just snap too. I just fixed mine up with metal (originally random bits of metal I had lying around, now I have rasehead's custom-cut plate specifically for the RB pedal).
