sorry if this is an old question, but does anybody know if we will be able to play an instrument and sing at the same time? The website says that the microphone CAN be used as a tambourine, but does that mean it has to be? Id really like to be able to do both.

It's very possible, but you'd have to use your head for the tamborine/cowbell parts.

lol, I can't wait to sing while playing guitar... then headbutt the mic to make the tambourine sound. Oh man, I'm gonna have a red forehead after the first day of RB!

Why not just make a popping sound with your voice (like a "puh" sound)? That should be similar enough to the sound of hitting the mic, and will prevent you from having to smash your face against metal (and probably not see the screen at the same time).

But not nearly as METAL.

That's true, the ladies do love scars. Not sure you'd want to tell them how you got it, though...

Not for nothing guys, but it's all I can do to concentrate on the guitar table than to be able to read that and the lyrics along with focusing on the pitch and tone levels. Even if you knew all the words to the song you'd still have to watch to make sure your vocal levels are correct and watch the guitar notes...not gonna happen

the tambourine and cowbell parts are so few and far between that you will be able to get away without hitting the microphone at all.

I think that a lot of the Who and Rush songs will have extended solo sections which I expect will have some form of cowbell/etc. Otherwise the vocalist will sit there and do nothing for 2-3 minutes.

Who the heck thought up banging their head on the mic? Why wouldn't you just blow into it instead of banging it?
