I was thinking it would be a good idea for Offline MP games to have all songs unlocked as one thing that pissed me off was on the GH 2 and GH release getting my cousin round and not being able to play MP Sweet Child or Freebird.
And instead of having to take hours unlocking the songs for Offline MP at least all unlocked please.
Who Agrees?

At least have some of the core songs unlocked. I like having to unlock bonus songs, as it gives me something to work for, and I'm not really missing them until then.
At least there's always an "unlock all" cheat.... right?

I say no because it gives you something to work for.

I'll second that. If you're gonna do multi right off the bat, you can all work at it together and give each other hugs upon completion :D

Yeah, I forgot that there is a multiplayer campaign... I change from 'Maybe' to 'no'.

I like having to work to unlock the songs. And with Rock Band you can most likely unlock the songs by playing through single player or world tour mode.

Personally, i say offline-online should be compatible: for example, if you unlock every song offline on any band profile, then your online account will have them all unlocked, if you have none unlocked, you have none online? sound good?

Also, you could do it the other way around, if you unlock stuff online it could become unlocked offline..maybe..who knows?

Not sure if the understanding of "online" is correct here.
When you play "online" you're basically online as soon as you start up your 360 or Ps3. Not sure if the Ps3 is the same, but I'm sure you're logged in once you start up just like the 360.
I have to speak about the 360, since that's all I have.
So, as far as multiplayer goes, you're not selecting online multiplayer specifically, just multiplayer in general. As I understand it, you're just going into multiplayer mode, and I'm sure there's just a way to pick people online to play with you. Because of the fact they said you can have a mixture of online players, and people that are right there with you.
So you're not doing just an online band career, the band career is the same whether you're playing with someone online in your band, or with just friends at your house.
Therefore, whatever you unlock in band career mode, will always be available no matter what multiplayer mode you play in.
The only thing is whether or not what you unlock in Single player mode, will be available in multiplayer, and vice versa.
Hope this makes sense!

i meant like if you just wanted to play a song online with some people not in career mode then they should all be unlocked but in offline multi player they should not be unlocked

Ohhh I get ya.
For instance, If you did single player quick play in GH without ever doing Career, you wouldn't have all the songs.
So you're saying, you want it to be if you play multiplayer quick play, to have all the songs unlocked without the career mode.
I understand. That is debatable though. Like people said, I don't think it will happen, because they want you to be striving to accomplish the content and have something to look forward to and such.

I like the idea of me and my bro playing any song on quick play right out of the box. Then we can start a world tour when we feel like it.

No.
With nothing to unlock, you're playing a boring game.

I guess I changed my mind, the World Tour mode sounds a lot more fun than Quick Play, and we can unlock songs as we are doing the Tour.

With the way I look at it, it's a mixed answer. I voted yes, but I have my reasons.
If there are going to be "encore" songs in the list, they should not be unlocked from the get-go. Those should be unlocked by playing the game, sort of like secret songs.
Also, I believe the bonus tracks (if they're existent at all) should require to be purchased.
Another way I think it could be done is that all of the songs announced so far (is it 16?) should be available to be played for those of you who have had a hankering to play them. The rest that we don't know about should be earned in sweat and hard work.
