Slayer - Raining Blood?

I know that Raining Blood is already confirmed for GH3, but I would have rather seen Angel of Death instead of Raining Blood purely because of its solo.

Angel Of Death would be great too but I say keep Raining Blood... Angel Of Death would be so damn hard and Raining Blood is probably their most famous song.... I would have been happy with and Slayer song though

nuts, me and my friend were just talking about this, I said that aod should be in the game instead of rb, but rb isnt a bad choice at all. both are excellent songs.

P.S I hate Kerry King's solos, any song that features a Jeff Hanneman solo is a good choice. and since Jeff played most of RB's solo (at least he does live, anyway) I can totally dig it. so I say have both of them in the game. even though I'm against multiple songs from one band in one game, but since they're allowing two ****ty Velvet Revolver tracks slip through the cracks they might as well do it for Slayer.

also, how about some ****ing Nile, please? also, can you please get a Death song in there?

I'd rather have "Angel of Death" than "Raining Blood" though I like both songs. Mostly because that opening scream on "Angel of Death" would be fun to take on in RB. I'd be satisfied with either though.

I imagine a larger percentage of the general metal populace that doesn't know Slayer would know them from Dead Skin Mask moreso than Raining Blood, although I'll say that Angel of Death would be my preference of the two.

Somebody mentioned that 1) Rain In Blood is more popular than Angel of Death and 2) Jeff is better than Kerry.

1) What?! Everybody and their mothers think of Angel Of Death before Rain In blood!!!!

2)WHAT?! It seems like Jeff is in a continuous decline of suckage, at least Kerry has a stable amount of suck.(I am a HUGE Slayer fan, but you know they suck as soloists when you're noodling on gutiar, and your friend tells you to pull a Slayer solo, and all you do is play nonsense. Ask any guitarist, it's sad but true.)

3)I would rather have Angel Of Death, but if you asked me what Slayer song would I want, it would be Seasons In The Abyss, WITH A PASSION!!!!! I love Lombardo's drum work on that song. It's just poetry in motion and shows what mad chops he has, WITH LITTLE TO NO DOUBLE BASS WORK!!!!

Now here is someone that actually knows their SLAYER!! All very true. Ever time I have seen Slayer in concert which actually started with the Reign In Blood tour in 85' they have ended their show with Angel of Death. I mean EVERY TIME. And I have seen Slayer at least 20 or more times in the last 20 some years. That song would always create the largest and most brutal pits. It was awesome.

So yeah, I agree actually with this dude about Seasons In the Abyss being the song. Angel of Death is a killer tune by all means, in fact I was just going to mention that the entire Reign In Blood album should be chosen. But obviously it would be WAY too hard for drummers, well at least too much their poor POS drums that RB has. Lambardo is a drumming God!!

As far as the lyrics in Angel of Death, I don't see an issue with them personally as someone earlier mentioned. I think it would be a good history lesson for people about the Nazi German Dr. Josef Mengele I think is who it's about. But I may be wrong about who the lyrics were actually about.

Bottom line is we NEED SLAYER in RB. No questions asked, just DO IT!! This would balance out the Cars album so we better just have a Best of Slayer album DLC because they have way to much killer stuff on most of their albums. It would be hard to pick one album for sure. ;):)

I think that we can all reasonably come to the conclusion that Slayer rocks without having to necro bump ancient threads like this. It's so far out of date that it's no longer even close to relevant.

Feel free to start another Slayer thread in the Ultimate Set List forum, and I'll be more than happy to vote in it.
