View Full Version : is this a common guitar problem

I'm on my third guitar (PS3). I've had it about a month because I thought this one was working OK. The overdrive is a bit random but I didn't want to go through the RMA process again.mostly I play with my wife for fun so I didn't notice this until a couple days ago. She can only play on medium, so I always play on medium guitar (I can 99-100% all the songs on guitar on medium).

I had some time to play alone (not as fun as BWT) so I started back on the guitar solo tour that I aborted when my last guitar broke. On fast passages (16ths?) it seems like I am missing notes. I haven't noticed any lag problems (drums and vocals seem perfect, unless the guitars are lagging differently since they are wireless). I think it is a problem with fast strums becuase I consistently miss fast triples. I hit them maybe 10 or 20% of the time (all downstrums). I haven't changed any settings and on the old guitars I had different problems. If I try to do down-up-down I can hit them more often but it's very unnatural to me. The fast triple notes weren't having this problem with the old guitars. I'm 3 and 4 starring the medium tier songs that have these kinds of fast notes, and I was 5-starring most everything on expert with the last 2 guitars before they broke.

Anyway, does anyone know off hand if this is a common problem and should I shoot the dice on another RMA? Have newer revisions fixed this? I feel like I am taking my life in my hands with these things especially now that what we are having fun with (Wife BWT on Medium) might get screwed up if I change the guitar again since this problem doesn't happen on the lower difficulties.

Advice? Thanks for reading all that. :)

P.S. I curse myself every day for getting the PS3 version instead of 360 just for the wireless guitars, seems like the PS3 gets the shaft at every turn. If I didn't have so much work put into the save file I'd try to sell the PS3 one and buy a new 360 bundle.
