I just read that Guitar Hero III is adding new instruments in 2008
Here is a qoute from RedOctane "the guitar hero franchise is developed internally and owned, offers a meaningful operating margin expansion potential versus Rock Band, which is purely a distribution deal for EA"
RedOctane and THQ is just outright stealing every idea from Harmonix. Agree/Disagree?

I think its pretty damn cheap...... I have faith in HMX and there quality towards where the franchise is heading.

That doesn't sound legit at all.
Post a link and maybe I'll believe you, but I'm calling BS.

Likewise.
Source please.
But if this is true, that is the biggest rip-off since the six-axis controller.
I mean, come on.
Uggh, I'm so annoyed with GH3...

I posted this yesterday in the General board with original source. It's true.
And what does THQ have to do with anything?

It has a quote from an analyst. Not RedOctane. You made up that quote. The analyst group is just predicting eventual competition (involving multiple instruments) which wouldn't be surprising, and may not even happen.

Interesting note:
Joystiq mentioned both analyst AND Activision claiming RedOctane was involved in making Jancers prediction real from an "anonymous source within Actvision" but edited the article hours later excluding Activisions involvement.

Red Octane did not say this whatsoever. Its an analysts idea. A very wrong idea IMO. Red Octane would be wise to keep gh the way it is. People may prefer gh3 over rock band right now only because of how simple it is. They play guitar, only need to buy a guitar, and thats that.

this isn't BS this is what needs to be done. GH3 will face a setback in sales because of rock band, which is more heavily anticipated. With all of this competition GH3 needs to step up and that's what they're doing

With the drum and keyboard patents owned by RedOctane this shouldn't surprise anyone.
Seriously why get upset?
