View Full Version : Guitar Return Process
So EA put a hold on debit card to send me a guitar.
The first box they sent me was empty so I called and they say they are sending me another box with a guitar in it and to send it back in the first box. Well for the better part of a week the box was showing billing information and nothing else so I complained to EA about this and then two days later I have my guitar and I check and the charge is gone. So should I keep the broken guitar too?

Not unless you want to potentially be enjoying a later $125 charge.
Personally, I wouldn't take the chance and would sent it back now before you do get billed. Besides, if it really is broken: why on Earth would you want to keep it anyway?

As far as I know, for bigger items, you get an empty box FIRST before you get your replacement. When I replaced my Drum Pedal, I received the Pedal first, and then I gladly shipped my broken one back to them.
For my Drum Pads, they sent me an empty box to put the pads in to ship to them. Now my replacement pads are in transit to my house. :D
If EA is taking the trouble to replace your hardware, I think the courteous thing to do would be to send your defective item back to them. And, like someone else said, if you DON'T send it back, then you will see that charge reappear. Think of it as their way of protecting themselves from people tricking them into getting free instruments...

I just got my fresh guitar a couple days ago. 2 days, just like EA said, and it plays better than the original! Great replacement policy, if you ask me.
