Enter Sandman vs. One

I can recognize the argument that Enter Sandman is a more accessible song, and might even be better suited to the Rock Band game.

But I have always had faith in Harmonix for their willingness to make daring musical choices. And at the end of the day, they chose the Top-40 Metallica song, while the other guys chose one of the greatest songs in Heavy Metal history.

Maybe this will be a forgotten memory a year from now when Master of Puppets is released as a DLC album. But for right now, I gotta say, this one hurts a little.

"One" is way better than sandman...i mean w/ sandman it was 2 popy 4 them..and it didnt really have the same feal as the ablums b4 the the "Black Album"...the solo in "one" is just so sweet and so crazy..i think its 1 of the best solos in metal....but personally i think they should have gone w/ "Whiplash" or "For Whom the Bells Tolls

yea there is a lot of dbl bass pedals used in the song but it would make it harder 2 play and more of a challenge 4 ppl 2 play...i wouldnt want 2 play a bunch of ez songso n drums....maybe start of w/ ez songs 2 get use 2 it but thats aboot it

This is going to be locked, but while One is a better song for GH, Enter Sandman is a better Rock Band song.

Overall Im not a big Metallica fan, so i could care less.

Its a tough choice, I kind of like them both, I think Enter Sandman might be a more fun song to sing, either way I have a good feeling that One will make its way, along with a bunch of other Metallica songs, to the DLC.

That could be true but why give Rock band "Sandman" and GH 3 "One" i'm sure Metallica and Q prime offered a selection of tracks as we all know that they are offering Rock band a big selection for DLC maybe even full albums so i would guess some choice by Harmonix or the song selection board had to be made as to which one ended up on the disc.. just a thought could be wrong though :)

Sure, there may be better Metallica songs to have in Rock Band...personally I'm just psyched there's a Metallica song in the game. When my wife heard she nearly lost it-she's so psyched.

Enter Sandman is way better for RB. I would rather play Enter Sandman, GH3 can keep their precious One... although if by some miracle, One is offered as DLC on RB I'll buy it faster than you can say FuQuann!

Well I know everyone is going to hate me for this, but I don't...really...like...Metallica and I think that Enter Sandman is their best song, probably because it's so different. I'd much rather play Enter Sandman, but I've never really heard much of the other stuff, and I'm sure I'd grow to like it if I played it...but it doesn't matter because I'm getting both RB and GH3!

One is obviously the better song, but I think this game needed Enter Sandman more. I'm not very happy with the songs already anounced so far for this game as compared to the songs that were on GH1 and upcoming GH3. They're not putting a lot of mainstream radio hits from some of the artists they've anounced for this game. Grant it they have some, but compared to GH1 and GH3, I'd say the set list so far for the game disk is a weak point for the game. The set list wasn't a very strong feature in GH2 and GH 80's, although both games had their good songs, but they still had a lot of songs that weren't so good. So going with Enter Sandman, I think was the right move.

Both songs rule, though Enter Sandman is more of a mainstream more well known song. So, it was better for both general knowledge and awesomeness. I would love to see One as DLC but who knows. I'm still hoping for the entire Metallica collection to hit Rock Band... A long shot, but a man can dream... A man can dream...

"One" is especial for me, it reminds me a lot of my skaboarding years...yeah I would've much preffered that song over "Enter Sandman" but everybody seems confident that we migth have One as a DLC, so I guess Sandman is a good start.
