I usually avoid making threads around here, but I thought Swervedriver might make a good addition to this game.

Despite the fact they have no chance.

well i wouldn't say its cuz they're intimidating i'd say cuz they're just not accessible. hell many zheul/rio/prog bands won't be accepted cuz they just aren't accessible.

I only meant they have no chance because they're an obscure 90s alternative rock band with some shoe-gazing influences.

If you think about it.....There are MANY bands out there that are great but they just aren't found by people yet. The big bands ACDC Metallica, Led Zep, they were once undiscovered. Alot of people still don't know about Dream Theater, Joe Satriani, Pain of Salvation or Porcupine Tree (I love that band) But they are still great. (You should check out my Audioslave tread and comment in this topic ;) )

pretty sure tons of people know abotu dream theater and joe satriani . . . for better or worse

porcupine tree however deserve the attention that all of those bands have gotten. even though their newest wasnt all that great i still think of them as an amazing band. hell they had their damn song on the 360 @ launch for christs sake

yea i like them...i dont think there 2 bad..i mean the only reason they r not gonna be in rb is cuz there not that mainstraim and they r different...kinda like the smashing pumkins kinda i guess that the closes thing i could think of...and radiohead

yes porcupine tree needs 2 have some kinda air play..on radios and stuff...i think they r freakin sweet

they're actually pretty different than both of those bands. smashing pumpkins is generic in ways. porcupine tree recently started this normal rock phase of theirs but if you listen to their stuff from the early 90s you'd nknow wut i mean

wait who did you say was like pumpkins and radiohead??

Swervedriver have fast songs, slow songs and just plain great songs.

Unfortunately, the sound quality on the youtube videos suck. The one I posted was the best I could find.

Like this song, "Son Of Mustang Ford"

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rNRRnew2jcA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rNRRnew2jcA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

The song's good, but I can't stand the quality.

im just gonna say ur right but i wanna point out that even though bands like acdc and metallica are well-known doesnt mean that u wouldnt love to take over for angus young or james hetfield. common they are legends and deserve what they have. but i do understand the mainstream **** though. i would love some, slick shoes in there but i accept that it just aint gonna go down like that and ur better off rooting for something that has a chance.

True, but whenever I suggest a band or artist, I fully accept and understand they won't be available on the disc. I think bands like this, or Porcupine Tree or whoever have a much better chance for downloadable content.

Who knows, we might even discover some new bands. :)

I just joined, so sorry that I didn't post sooner. I would love to see some Swervedriver DLC, especially "Son of Mustang Ford" and "Last Train to Satansville." Lets make it happen!

Also, this is timely because they just reformed and went on tour.

Swervedriver was one of my favs in my college days in the early to mid 90's....Good memories....I doubt we will ever see them on RB, but I would be quite happy if I am wrong
