Who's gona see this movie today!? I heard a review on the radio that the movie is pretty damn bloody! guts flying all over the place, also jam packed with action "with a capitol A" as he put it.

a comment he made that made me crack up was: It makes the "Saw" movies look like the "Sound of Music". :D

To summarize, he said it's a great "Rambo" flick if you judge by those standards, if you never liked the previuos Rambo movies, then you might be dissapointed.

I take it that means he doesn't bring up the bit about Rambo helping the future Taliban fight the Soviets in Afghanistan back in Rambo 3.

I suppose the next round of terrorists who hate us because Rambo helped them in a movie will come from whatever country the new film takes place...

It's kind of an odd thing to say anyway. First Blood is an excellent movie which many people may not appreciate without any decent insight into how veterans of the Vietnam war were received and treated upon leaving, and especially, returning from the field.

It's tone and message are quite different from it's sequel. Like comparing Rocky 1 with Rocky 3 or 4.

Sorry, but Sylvester Stallone is old enough to be considered for Social Security. I just think he LOOKS too old to be doing all this high-pace action stuff.

I just saw it today, and if you've seen the rated R trailer online, then you'll know how gory this film is. Its pretty crazy, apparently in rambo's world, machine gun turrets can rip people in half.

Overall it was an entertaining movie, which is good enough since thats what movies are made for, entertainment. Not much of a story line, but when interviewed on Letterman Stallone stated that one of the main purposes for making the film was to raise awareness of what really is happening over in Burma.

O yea, the movie felt pretty short, like <90 min, but thats probably because there isn't too many scenes.

If you didn't see this film in theaters you deprived yourself. One of the only films I've seen in the last 10 years that I'd say needed to be experienced in a bona fide movie house. It single-handedly convinced me that I needed a home theater sound setup.

I have a theatre in my house and it's coming to Bluray.

I don't know how many of you have watched the new Rambo flick, but damn that was probably the best of the series.

I really liked First Blood, thought 2 was decent, and 3 was just terrible, but 4 really, really shocked me with how well put together it was.

I mean yeah at the end of the day it's just blood and shooting, and it isn't going to win any oscars, but I really enjoyed it.

I have NEVER in my life wanted a group of people (the Burma army) to outright get killed in the most horrible ways possible. I've seen movies where the 'evil' army is against the hero, and you're like "YEAH GET EM!", but the attrocities that these guys do to people were really hard to watch. And there were other people watching with me that started cheering when Rambo started ripping through them.

The scene with the boy getting bayonetted, and throwing young children into fires was really hard to watch, and I'm a horror movie veteran of almost 30 years.

Really good movie(for what it is), and if you can stand the type of violence in this movie I suggest you go out and rent it.

Sad thing is they didn't exaggerate for propaganda purposes, that crap is really happening over there and the regime ignores it if not sanctions it. The military unit Rambo chops to bits in the film was not actually stated to be linked to the junta, though with the situation there the way it is I don't see that it much matters.

I've worked with a few refugees from Burma at my job, one who had to come here and request political asylum to keep from being killed by the state, another whose family put him and his brother in a Buddhist monastery to keep the government from abducting them to be soldier thugs like what happens in the beginning of the film. The army routinely uses abducted females as sex slaves and force elementary-age kids to do hard labor.

If there's any place in the world that makes me feel less forgiving of the bad situation in the States right now, it's Burma.

Definitely very gory and cruel. I saw it as soon as it hit on blu-ray, since my friend bought it; and sure enough, it looks beautiful on blu-ray. Aside from that, yeah it was decent; I think First Blood is still better though, but it wasn't too bad.

Heh, and Stallone definitely can't do action anymore. After watching this movie, he hardly acted at all. The most acting you saw, as far as action goes,

******** SPOILER ********

was him just standing behind a machinegun and just shooting all the enemies in the field.
