Is Rock Band gonna be released in the UK? and if so when? Because IGN says its gonna be unreleased, Wikipedia says the date is tbc and these forums are for Americans only!!

Anyone know? Please i really want this game and i will be gutted if it is unreleased, because now GTA4 is delayed, I only want this and Halo 3 before xmas!!

Considering that the Guitar Hero games sold great in Europe, and that EA loves money, I think it is a safe bet that it is going to come out in the UK and the rest of Europe. Perhaps a few days, or weeks later, like GH2.

I see no reason why it wouldn't.

Besides, you still have Guitar Hero 3

I would imagine that UK will see a release date. I'm sure it will probably just be several months after the NTSC version.

Like you say there is no release date set yet, there really isn't even a confirmed american release date, except that it is coming this holiday season. There is no doubt in my mind that the UK will be seeing Rock Band, I'm not sure how long it will take to get there, I doubt it would be much longer than first quarter 2008.

If EA know what they're doing, they'll get this into Europe as quickly as possible. Going by the popularity of Guitar Hero here, it would be foolish not to. If this is not the case, I was curious about importing, would online play work on PAL with an NTSC version of the game?

Play.com also have it listed, so it definately will be coming out.

I know about PS3 as i have one and have imported a few games, PS3 games are region free so yeah you would be able to play on-line as Harmonix say that you can play with anyone in the world which means they would be using worldwide servers so it won't pose a problem, as for the game itself If you play in HD then you wont have problems HD is the same worldwide.. if your using a standard TV you may have problems with the PAL NTSC issue you may not it depends on the TV,

not sure about the 360 don't have one so i don't know what the police is in regards to games for that.

Leipzig is just 3 weeks away which is the Euro version of E3.. not sure if Harmonix and Rock band will be there but if they are i'm sure we will hear some kind of news at least an idea of when it's due and hopefully that we wont be ripped off in regards to DLC content

Of course will Rockband be released in Europe. Why not? It will probably come out shortly after the US release, just like Guitar Hero 2 did. (Hopefully)

I'm hoping that it'll be out very quickly after the US release... if we're lucky, it'll be within the month... mebbe if we're really good :)

Yeah, its just they are kinda sending out the wrong messages for us really... because, and i mean no offence to any Aussies, Australia has a release date according to IGN, and there is a bigger consumer base in the EU than in Australia.

but ah well, will just have to wait and hope....

As far as Sony is concerned, Australia IS part of Europe...
So, when there is an AU release date for PS stuff, it's an EU release date also.

I'm still not convinced about the AU release date... who the hell releases a game on New Years Eve???? :)

I have no idea where they got that date from, but I'm hoping us aussies get it b4 then. Why would they release the game a week after xmas? that's the stupidest thing ever.

Well the December 31 date is obviously a placeholder. I'd be very angry if Rock Band is not released this year in Australia. With such a promising game, I hope they aim for a simultaneous worldwide release.

I do hope that RB is out in the UK this year its 1 of the top games Ive been waiting for since I first heard about it & I hope HMX give all us non American gamers sum info soon both on release date & price as Im not buying any new games until I find that out. :D

I reckon it will cost £200 even though pre orders in the US are $200 (about £130). PLZ HMX dont dissapoint the fans in EU with a delay on RB we already suffer enough with game release dates & anything else to do with the gameing world.:(

Well if GHII is anything to go by:
USA: November 7, 2006
Europe: November 30, 2006.

I'd say we'll see something similar for Rockband, perhaps the dates will be even closer this time round.

USA: November 7, 2006
AU: November 15, 2006
EU: November 24, 2006

I took that info from gamefaqs, but I wasn't sure if it was correct or not. Either way, it would be awesome if we all got it around the same time. Can't wait.

It will cost no where near £200 as that's nearly half the price of a 360/PS3 know one would pay that much for a game no matter what it is.. and also $200 is £98 not £130 not sure which exchange rate you were using.

Of course it will come out. But we'll just be left lagging behind as always. Thats what happens when you dont live in "Gods own country", the USA. We will always be second, but hey, thats capitalism. Demand is higher over there, so theyll release there first.

Thx to Nintendo for releasing Mario Strikers over here first tho. Some publishers are nice. And dont forget, its not HMX fault, its EA... grr the Rupert Murdoch of games, shame such a gd game is being published under it.

yh, id agree with that.

£80 for drums + game
£60 for guitar + game NON BUNDLE BUY TOGETHER: £180
£40 for mic + game

and the bundle is always btr quality price. Tho bundle price will probs be £160. But hey, its all predictions.

US release is 30th November. Australia release is 31st December (source wikipedia)

If its going to be a split release date, then it will come AFTER USA or BEFORE/SAME as Australia, though I doubt they will release Europe same as Australia, since the population change is significant.

Pre Christmas. Early December... possibly against Mario Galaxy :P

I know Metroid Prime Corruption is out same day as Halo 3... hahaha

The Australia date is obviously just a placeholder and even the US release is not confirmed. The Gamepro rather said Nov 6th not 30th.

So please... no last week of November please... I've got a concert to go to in November, so I'll have no cash, lol, make it first week of December, I'll have been paid then :D.

nope. Wikipedia is a fantastic source, often with insider knowledge. Its predicted many other releases correctly before, and if it said I was dead, it must be true :P

And, dont do the "anyone can edit it" performance. If you try to edit a section (which i've tried to do on, lets say, people who I don't like's pages) its EXTREMELY quickly put back to the norm.

But Nov 30th for America...I bet u its 10 days either way on that, and remember I said this, and if im wrong spam me with PMs, if i'm right... well I told you so.

I don't think it will be coming to the UK/Europe this year other wise Harmonix would be promoting it at leipzig and I dont think they will be as it starts the day before PAX and ends the same day as PAX and we all know Harmonix are at PAX for the whole time so i doubt they would spend one day at leipzig and then fly back for PAX.

I may import the guitar and game pack.. and then get the drums at a later date i just hope the shipping fees wont be to much.

Wikipedia is still no reliable source. And yeah, that's because everyone can edit it. After you have edited the article, someone else probably saw it and edited it back.
Yeah, of course there are some people who know stuff and write it down there, but the information is still written by anyone who thinks he/she knows something about it.
The release dates on Wikipedia are not official.

But, since we're not counting Wikipedia, in the US I stand by its Nov 30th... But UK for defo same as Australia, so after Christmas. Sorry fellas... but hey you'll have Halo 3 to finish and to be bored of online by then...

Japanese... missing out... on a crazy bemani game. This would be like announcing Gitaroo Man 2 only in England.

It'll come. But it depends how patient you are. And the same goes for the Wii version

Oh man, do you really believe this? For the last time, the Australia date on Wikipedia in nothing but a placeholder. Actually the September Gamepro issue is a more reliable source than Wikipedia. I lol at Wikipedia... anyway, the Gamepro says it's going to be the 6th of November. Of course there is still no real announcement, but this is the most reliable source.

We'll know for sure when HMX speaks.

And yeah, Europe. I'm sure we don't have to wait much longer than the US. Normally we don't have to. Normally we get a game a week (or so) later than the US. (Except it's a japanese game)

I have hope in HMX, they won't let us wait much longer. And why should they? I don't think much time is needed to translate and port it into PAL.

It will probably come out in Europe 'later' than the US. You have to give our mentally challenged cousins accross the pond a head start or they will just whine like *****es when they get their arses kicked. :o (joke before you all jump up and down)

I think the only thing you can say about the release dates, for any region, is that a 'before xmas' date would be the sensible thing so they can catch the christmas rush (middle eastern countries exluded of course)

If it comes out in January then I think sales will be poor (initially) although over the longer period I guess they will be the same.

Agreed. Pre Christmas. Post US. Early December?

lorddavid

After Christmas would be asked for a disaster sales wise. The only people who are buying anything after Christmas are kids with money they've got as presents... I don't see them having enough cash to buy Rock Band with, and those that do, will scoff at buying a single game for their money instead of a handfull.

If it comes out late November in the US, the latest it'll come out here is early December, just in time for the Christmas rush (which also means... reserve your copy, they'll be flying off the shelves early, my copy I can already count on being reserved regardless, as I know the staff in the local Gamestation, they'll probably put my name down before I even get in :D).

I still stand by my earlier comment tho', the best time is early December... tho' if it came out just after I'd be happy, as not only is it my birthday then, but I'll be booking a week off regardless (I'm NOT allowing my manager to have Christmas off 3 sodding years in a row... tough **** to her).

If Rockband really comes out on Nov. 6th in the US, just like the Gamepro says, then I hope we'll get the game in November. Well, let's say one week later. That would be perfect. Actually whenever the game comes out in the US, we should get it a week later, at the latest. :D
