Well I got rock band SE for the ps2 about a week ago.I have the first generation of ps2 and the game worked perfect for about 5 days,then in the middle of a song it froze,I reset the playstation and the game refused to load at all.I tried off and on for the next 24 hours or so and it wouldnt get past the first playstation logo at start up.Plays all my other games fine (except rogue galaxy which takes about 3 minutes to load the disc)
After some research and finding out about the dual layer discs and the laser not being strong enough in the older model ps2s I decided to get a slim ps2. rogue galaxy starts up fine as does everything else except rock band,so after getting a new copy of the game it seems for now at least to be working .
Now im wondering if the disc was damaged by playing it in an older model ps2.
there were slight marks on the disc ,not scratches but looked more like weak spots almost as if it was burned..cant explain it better than that ,and i didnt think of taking pics before i returned it for a new copy.Hopefully I wont have anymore disc problems
Can anyone confirm if the laser is strong enough for dual layer discs on my slim ps2?
