I just got the game and as soon as I try to play it puts me in as a vocalist. It won't let me do anything else. Just keeps saying no mic. in port. All I want to do is play guitar. P.S. this game is not from a bundle pack. Help! P.s.s. I am using the les paul guitar. I'll need a differant one won't I?

Did the same thing...was just wanting more songs to play so I bought the Rock Band game for $59.95 + tax (wonder why they're selling it as a stand alone game if it requires their controllers?). The PS3 git will work with Rock Band from what I've been reading from google searches...but the Harmonix Strat WILL NOT work with PS3's games. Even went to Game Crazy and bought a USB mike and am still stuck being the singer. I even went so far as to reformat my PS3 to get rid of the RB player info and when I reload RB I've gotten myself as singer, singer(1), singer(2) and singer(3). Seems gettin' rid of the RB save info is like tryin to get rid of a bad rash...lol. Sure hope somone has a workaround for this! Got the game now, sure don't wanna have to go buy the whole bundle after buying the game and be stuck with two copies, ya know?

Thanks magoo. NMow I don't feel so bad. Ispent over an hour doing the same thing. Deleteing the save game over and over and etc. Saw some where that I can't use the Les Paul I bought. Now I have to get guitar 2. Would not have bought the game if I knew. Just like you wanted to jam guitar only. Good hereing from you.

If this is for a PS3, you're SOL ATM...
If it's for the XBox, Make sure your Guitar is turned on, or even boot up the system using your guitar. You must use the guitar to make your menu selections. If you use the gamepad, the game is designed for the gamepad to control the menus if you are using the mic. So if you just want to play guitar, don't turn on your gamepad, there is no need for it.
