I've seen how the controller is a Stratocaster (who hasn't seen it, right?), but I really like Telecasters much more than Stratocasters.

Who else would like to see an extra peripheral that's a Telecaster guitar?
I know I would.

You should put up side-by-side pics.

Anywho *clears throat* Strat FTW!

More choices would be cool. I say sure, why not? But Strat for me. Unless Ibanez ever signed on.

A Jaguar controller would be pretty awesome.

i think on a controller with extra frets low on the neck its essential to have a double cutaway just in case you play lefty but as an extra product sure whatever.

I always liked the sound of a strat better than a telecaster. But I'm a Gibson guy anyway, never liked Fenders too much.

Joe Strummer played a hot Telecaster. But i'm really not the biggest fan of them, I like the Teles more. I'm more of a Gibson SG and Explorer guy anyway

telecasters blow. Only two pickups, shoddy controls, and no tremolo. STRAT PLS

That's a telePROMPTER you crazy fool!!!! ;)

And it should be a Telecaster for Rock Band 2: Rock Harder.

A choice would be cool. But a Jaguar or Mustang would be better. 90's style man!!

One cool thing would be to make one of the guitars in the RB-bundle a strat, and one tele. That'd be a little more fun than having two strats imo. Plus it'd add a realistic feeling, if the guitars didn't look exactly the same.

And to be ontopic: I like the strats more.

Gibson Flying V > Stratocaster > Telecaster :)
I'm not a big fan of Stratocasters, but I'll take them over Telecasters anyday.

Telecaster? Gibson Flying V? Noooo.

If you want my opinion, here it is:

I actually like how the strat looks compared to the telecaster, and I think it might be too costly to make two different guitar controllers.

Mmmmm...
Guitar Hero is doing the Les Paul. Not to mention Fender is Rock Band's partner and Gibson is GH's.

the telecaster is too much of a blues guitar to be rock band's guitar.

Uh...yeah, so how the real guitars play holds no bearing over a controller. It's just a controller. It's not like you'll stop playing Rock Band and then go and take your controller and jam with it in all reality.

Telecaster should be the Rock Band 2 controller.

Don't get me wrong, I like Telecasters, beautiful guitars, but Omega said it best

i think on a controller with extra frets low on the neck its essential to have a double cutaway just in case you play lefty

It also doesn't look bad upside down. Thats the reason the SG was so great in Guitar Hero 1&2. It doesn't look weird like the X-plorer does upside down. Atleast the Strat and the SG both have the "it worked for Hendrix" mentality :p

Besides the Stratocaster is timeless. It's been used by great guitarists of pretty much every genre and decade imaginable since it's debut in 1954, making it the perfect guitar for Rock Band.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Stratocaster_players

FUN FACT: the list fails to mention Jimmy Page, seeing as his main axe was the Les Paul, but he did use Strats in the studio and live all the time (Led Zeppelin DVD Box Set, Disc Two, In The Evening if you don't believe me) His main guitar was the Telecaster early on in the Yardbirds and in Led Zeppelin in 68, but switched to the Les Paul in 69

I hate the Telecaster. It looks like a bloated Strat.

Sorry if I violate the rules of the question but I think neither. Especially the telecaster. It's god-awful ugly.

I love Les Paul's and they are, in my opinion, the greatest solid-body electric guitars out there. Les Paul is an amazing guitarist/inventor/producer and his creation is the absolute foundation of rock music.

The sound of a LP makes me wanna cry. It's so beautiful.

Not against "the rules" to think neither, but since Gibson has the contract with Guitar Hero III and Fender has the contract with Rock Band, I decided to keep this between the two most iconic guitars made by Fender.

Also, my two favorite guitars are the Gibson Les Paul and the Fender Telecaster, in that order. Don't think I don't love Les Pauls, newwaytodie.

absolutely rigth, so keeping that in mind, that it's just a controller, I have to say that the Stratocaster makes a much more better looking guitar "controller" than a telecaster.

Harmonix should steal Gibson for Rock Band 2 in a daring Zorro-esque manner and give us some damn Firebird controllers.

****s yes.

Or.. they could just make a Fender Jazzmaster controller. Not like they're the same body or anything...

Yh yh i know its only plastic, its not the real thing, but the strat is just the icon of all rock. If you get a musical noob (yh i know not a gr8 term for them but i played Counter Strike for 2 years...) and ask them to draw/describe a guitar, it'll be a strat.

Its also a beautiful instrument, and much better than the SG in terms of sound. And a telecaster is a rhythm guitar, not a lead...

I do think, cos of its iconic status, its the best looking guitar, but most will disagree.

Sure, the Strat is good and all, but I would love to use a replica of what I use in real life... For those who don't know what a Kerry King Warlock looks like...

it has a decent sound to it... I have medium strings on it right now, though :( . I need to pick up some light gauge. I hope that they will have many brands available. Probably not Gibson, but at least B.C. Rich and Ibanez in addition to Fender.

KingColon

I could definitely sleep with Ibanez and B.C. Rich in the game, seeing as how I play (and love) both.
