Another guitar compatibility question (PS2 Strat on PS3 system)...

I've searched but can't find a thread on this, nor am I able to find any sort of conclusive evidence.

I'm wondering if the Strat that comes with the PS2 version of Rock Band will work with the PS3 game system.

I have a PS3 Rock Band (and like many others have no bassist). A friend has Rock Band for PS2 so I'm wondering if his PS2 strat will work on my PS3 system.

We're having a large party this weekend so I'm trying to think of anything that will allow for 4 players. If the PS2 RB guitar won't work, I may have to buy another PS3 bundle and then sell off the drums/game/mic.

I've been told by several people that it won't work, even with the converter, but that's not first-hand knowledge.

Yes the STRAT from the ps2 will work on the ps3. It's the ps2 GH SG's that will not work on the ps3.
