I guess their idea of special edition is the bundle. i.e. The game, a guitar, drums, and mic.

That is damn sexy looking. I actually think the full bundle would need a wider box than that, so i'm not sure if its official. Although i guess they could just make it deeper.

edit: also amazon previously had no picture, so they must've recently gotten it from someone.

edit 2: Go to the xbox 360 version and you'll notice a very different box art, one that i don't think looks very good, or real at all

I would say that PS3 box is for real, looks to be very high quality. Unlike that Xbox pic, i see the dimensions are 20 pounds !...... gonna need a back brace to carry that bad boy !

I like how the drummer looks to weigh about 600 pounds, and that Amazon is still listing the assumed price. It's already August, there's only 3 months to go, they'll probably say the official price within a month and a half, I say.

That box art looks sexy. Now I want to see the 360 one and if Special Edition means anything besides bundle. Maybe teh wireless Strat for both? Which could propose the possibility of a cheaper version. Am I digging too deep?

The 360 Cover is definitely fake, and a bad one too. (Just the pictures of the perephials, whew)

I think the PS3 bundle is also a fake. First, what bundle is that? Guitar and Game? It looks to small for all the perephials. But again, the PS3 logo will be to big if this is the real thing... well, could be wrong. But I don''t think that this is the real deal.

I loved the wired controllers. If they ever release these games with wireless controllers, I swear to god I will stop playing them. Wireless is just a bad choice, considering that the average home has many wireless things already in it, and interference is not only possible, it is highly likely.

I think the box only needs to be as long as the guitar, just gonna be alot higher. I remember in the interview with Helen, she said that the drums are gonna be super compact. So based off that comment i think the box looks to be the right length, we just cant see how high it is.

Btw if thats fake box art HMX should hire that person, cause that looks awesome !

It is the bundle. The Game/guitar/drums/mic set. It's not some crazy new thing. I checked my receipt from my pre-order. It says:

Well, the thing for me is, when im playing GH2, my sis always comes running into the living room and doesnt even bother, and unplugs me! so, im not sure if i want a wireless guitar, or what. but are the drums wired? i think they are. Im not sure if i am gonna buy it on PS3, or 360. Probably 360 because the achievements, and on PS3, i dont have many friends.

It's just, it looks like the box of GH2, which had only a small guitar in it. Now we have drums and mic too and the Rock Band guitar is almost as big as a real guitar. So, yeah, I think it looks kinda small. But well, could be just the pic, and besides, nobody knows how they have put all the perephials inside the box. Maybe they have disassembled everything somehow.

It's my theory that they actually just give you a chunck of plastic which you have to melt and cast yourself, then some wires and foam pads and buttons. It's be sweet because you won't necessarily have to make the equipment in the shape of a guitar or drums, but you could make an instrument in the shape of a keytar, or Xbox.

to me that looks like the lid to the box not the box itself as some have said it only needs to be the length of the guitar, the box itself could be deep with the drums at the bottom and the guitar, game and mic on top.
