Do you think the 3 songs that are in both games will have the same Guitar pattern? I know it's by different companies, so what are the chances that they will have different guitar patterns?

I think that they have a good chance of being the same note charts, but hopefully they will be atleast a little different. I wish that they would have picked Crazy Train for GHIII instead of paranoid, and other songs by the other two artists. Maybe they will if they get a bad rap about the 3 shared songs.
But if you think about it.......3 shared songs isn't so bad concidering GHIII is going to have 70 songs. Just say they have 67 songs now instead lol

there is still a chance that crazy train could be in both of the games, because paranoid belongs to sabbath, but crazy train belongs to ozzy alone. dont forget GH1 had iron man, and bark at the moon, so it's possible we could still see both

I don't think they will have the same charts, which is better than the same EXACT stuff in both games. Still, very annoying though.
almost as annoying as the fact that GH3 has more than one song from the same band.
Ugh, DIVERSIFY mf'ers!

I think they'll be similar except for any tougher chord stuff or faster solo parts which could be slightly altered. Lets hope they are since I am definitely getting both.

They will be different. Different chartmakers are working on them. Certain parts may be similar since they are making them based of the music. The HO's & PO's and Star Power areas will be differnet as well.

It'll definitely be a good way to choose who's got the better chart makers. Cause god knows a song can be fun based on the note chart alone.

Yeah, I'm kinda looking forward to it. Charts can make or break a song. I guess it will also depend on where in the game they use the songs though. Comparing them will only be fair if they're in the same difficulty range.

IMO some examples
Make - Strutter, Seventeen, Dead! [I don't like any of those bands/songs very much but now I could listen to em and enjoy them. Great example of how this game should bend peoples musical tolerance
Break - Freya [WTFCHORDS]

True that, but they should be. It will really show how songs can be MADE difficult based on note charts too if they're far off on their tiers.

I read a preview of GH3 (I think on IGN) where they complained about how easy GH3 was on the hardest difficulty, but they did like the direction Neversoft had taken with the chord layouts, hinting that it was a departure from what we've seen in GH1 and 2. So yes, I expect the same songs to have very different note layouts.

They'll be noticably different and Rock Band's will be better.

I'll take the professional experience of Harmonix over people that illegally hacked the game and put vids on youtube then got hired or people that have just never done it before anyday. How's that ignorant? This is Harmonix's 11th music game,Neversoft's first.

Yeah but but but Neversoft added battle mode and it's really innovative...blehhhhhh. But seriously, Rock Band is Metallica, and Guitar Hero 3 is the Metallica Cover Band. They both offer you the ability to rock, one just does it more authentically, while the other tries really hard, but you can tell they're just aping something greater. I'll buy both.

What? It looks like both players are playing the guitar part. It's the bass playing during that time, is it not? I don't see the problem.

Yeah, other than the song looking way too easy, I saw nothing wrong with it. I hope the guy on the left wasn't on expert though.
Maybe its the nature of the videos, but every one I see of GH3 has a bit of choppiness to the flow of the fret board, whereas GH2's is always smooth.

So there was guitar playing, but neither person was playing it...odd I agree. Was it guitar? It sounded like it to me, but I guess it could have been bass, I could be very wrong.

It was the bass. If you notice, that line of music is never played the rest of the song, so why would it be played at this point in the song?
