I think Lars looks a little weird.. but I like it.

Lars Umlatt looks almost exactly like Abbath Doom Occulta there, right down to the Flying V played to its side like that. so hopefully thats a sign of some much needed black metal in the game...like Immortal.

as for Slash on the cover, ****ing wicked. Slash rules so I dig it.

Slash is one of the best guitarists in rock music, if you cant see that then you obviously dont know too much about music. no, he isnt a technical powerhouse, but he doesnt need to be. either way, at the end of the day hes still a better musician than most of us.

Yeah they are. Slash decided to whore himself out. There's gonna be two Velvet Revolver songs, two G N'R songs (if I'm not mistaken), and an original piece made by Slash solely for this game. If that isn't whoring oneself out, I don't know what is.

The box art is pretty cool. I don't mind slash being on the cover, I think it is a pretty obvious thing to do. I like new look to the characters. I think it is really odd they used Lars instead of Jonny Napalm. I'm also really curious to know who the other boss battles are with.

I like the new look of all of the characters I've seen so far except for Judy.

I would have like to have seen the new Axel on the cover though... even though him and Judy were on the cover for GHII, but she's on this one as well.

There's only three, and one is against a "fictional guitarist." So:

Slash
The Grim Ripper
Some guy who they're ashamed to call a legend but was all they could get.

Hopefully Billy Corgan, becuase I can't think of a single video game/movie that wouldn't be better if Billy Corgan was the villian.

on the cover: Lars looks cool, Judy looks crappy, and Slash looks like the on Fabulous Furry Freak Brother.

I don't like the cover art simply because it looks very cartooney. And as others have mentioned, they really ruined Judy Nails. Here's hoping that the character builder in Rock Band will let me build a proper Judy Nails.

Notice most of the older folk aren't exactly ecstatic about the idea

The only things i really dont like about GH3 so far is the battle mode, with that lefty flip, string breaking crap. I thought the boss ode was kinda cool until i realized that lefty flip crap can e used there too. They definatly changed the game for the worse to take a large chunk of playing skill out of the game.

In any case, I won't be staring at the cover, I'll be playing the game. :)

It's sad that there is better, more intelligent discussion about GH on the RB board rather than the official GH board. :)

just because they don't include a 1 mintue guitar solo in every song doesnt mean its terrible guitar work. I will agree however that is very straightforward and simple. Complex does not automatically guarantee good.

he looks gritty in VR? to me he looks like a ****ing shell of his former self in VR. the picture on the front cover looks almost exactly like Slash. the reason it looks "cartoony" is because its an illistration, genius.

no, 311 arent better than any of the metal bands I listen to. and it isnt a matter of opinion, its a matter of musical ability and the boys in 311 dont really stack up to anyone who plays heavy metal music, which is a genre that thrives on musical ability and skill. pop punk doesnt...at all.

I really liked the instruments at the beggining of Welcome, but the rest sound like a poor mans Rage Against the Machine, and the vocals sound almost halarious at times.

On the most recent post of the pictures of each individual bundle, on the right hand side it says "new wireless guitar" for each bundle. So I guess that would mean the 360 too, right?

I have a PS3 but I've seen many 360 people wondering about wired/wireless.

The guitar hero controllers were promised to be wireless for all next-gen systems awhile ago. I think Microsoft finally gave up their little wireless technology, so that a wireless guitar would be possible for gh3/rock band

If they incorporated new features to the guitar, other than black stickers over the buttons (lol), then maybe I'd reconsider.

But for now I'll use the Xplorer, and then that will retire from a GHIII guitar, and revive itself as a Rock Band bass :)
