Bring Her Down- Rob Zombie
Way of The Warrior- Hammerfall. the point band of the swedish Power Metal movement, they sing and rock perfect english, and definatly in the spirit of the older style of Metal. they are similar to Dragonforce in that their music is very much inspired by fantasy, but in my mind they are the better band for a few reasons. one being that their singer is easier to understand and distinguish, two is thier repoitoir and catalog of songs backs to 93 or so.
Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin. I know alot of people vote for Stairway to Heaven, but i think this song is much more appropriate. great work in guitar drums and vocals, plus a bit of some personal Bias.
This is Halloween as done by Marilyn Manson. its one of his more recent and "friendly" songs, and if you want iconic and good stage performers as well as creative musicians, than he and his band dont get much better.
Enter Sandman - Metallica. Has to be there, just by sheer nature
Shadows - Blue Man Group. granted, i am aware that many people believe BMG to be purely stage performers, but they have released multiple CD's of songs, often with guest singers to them. Shadows, and much of BMG's repoitoire has alot of percussions and drumwork, which would make those of us who are planning to go for that instrument very happy.
Riding With The King - B.B. King and Eric Clapton. granted we are drifting into blues territory with this song, but its hard to deny BBKings signature guitarwork and singing as well as his influence on generations of other musicians
Voodoo Child- Jimi Hendrix. one of the most recognizable songs (in my opinion) in rock history.
Seven Nation Army - White Stripes. its a basic song to be sure, but its a good one and it gets in your head fast.
Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd. dont have any real reason, just wanna see it.
Runaway- Linkin Park. cause why the hell not.
Wish I had an Angel- Nightwish. This song is interesting because the band is a Finnish Metal Band and their lead singer is one Female, and two was trained as an opera singer. so the song plays as both soothing and very skilled vocals to brain numbing instrumentals.
i'll think of some more later on.

Seven Nation Army is the only one I agree with. Pointless to state reasons, but I will state one... In particular: Metallica. Yeah, Enter Sandman is the most likely song to get in the game, but it's still a crappy one... I would MUCH rather see one of the three instrumentals in. Orion, Call of Ktulu, or To Live is to Die would be beyond epic!

I will admit first that I do not like Metallica, but I would like to clarify that my dislike with them has nothing to do with the fact that Enter Sandman would be a horrible choice for this game.
The same riff played over, and over, and over, and over. NO.

yah didnt really think about that quite so much. was just thinking along the lines of rock songs i would like to see.
and i dont think what makes a song good or bad overall can be given any true value more than a persons personal taste. however, there are songs that are both good and bad for Rock Band.

I'd rather see "By Myself" than "Runaway" if your gonna put a Linkin Park song in there

yah i was debating that one too, though now that i think about it, you would probably need to pick a song where its all one singer, and as far as I know that really limits down your choices for songs. if thats the case, than i'd suggest either High Voltage (an all Mike song) or Breaking the Habit (all Chester)

adding a few more to the list
Tribute - Tenacious D. considering that T'Ds whole scheme is to parody traditional rock music while still being a good rock band themselves, i think it would be appropriate to add them in.
Drunken Lullabies - Flogging Molly. For everybody out there who is Irish, or likes to pretend that they are Irish, while still having a pretty good balance between lead, bass, drums and guitar.

Roundabout- by Yes
Rock and Roll All Night- Kiss
I cant get no- Rolling Stones.
Great gig in the sky- Pink Floyd
Mister Superstar- Marilyn Manson. the irony in this song is huge, considering how much he seems to trash both rockstars and the people who sheepishly worship and emulate thier idols, willing and wanting to copy thier horrible mistakes. plus its also got good guitar and drumwork, not to mention Mansons signature singing.
i think perhaps a few themesongs from games/movies might also work as downloadable content.

Yes to Seven nation Army for 'RockBand'
I would also like to See Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child BUT not on Rockband. Guitar hero 3 is probably a better idea for that Song.
