As a general rule of thumb for my music preferences, if the bands newer than 1990, it sucks. Classic and hard rock all the way. Here are basically my four favourite songs from different artists that I'd want on Rock Band more than any others.

The Rover - Led Zeppelin: I just love the raunchy (is that the right term?) sound the guitar puts off.

Wheels of Confusion - Black Sabbath: The ending of the song may very well be my favourite song melody ever! Ive never been able to get either the lead or rhythm guitar outta my head.

Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones: Its a classic, perhaps their most well known song (along with Jumping Jack Flash or Brown Sugar, but I can only pick one).

House of the Rising Sun - The Animals: Although not among my top 5 fav. songs (more like top 20) I'd sing vocals for this song, which I doubt I'd do often.

I can't finish the list without a few mentions of some of my other fav songs.

Paradise City, Sweet Child of Mine, You Could Be Mine by Guns N' Roses
Crazy Train by Ozzy
Houses of the Holy by Zeppelin......Stairway!! STAIRWAY!!!!
Shoot to Thrill or Back in Black by AC/DC
Heaven and Hell, Iron Man - Black Sabbath
Southern Man - Neil Young
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynard Skynard

Not sure how to to a poll, but seeing as how a game has to appeal to a wide range of music preferences, which songs (if you've ever heard them) does anyone, from any music type, like? The more "classics" I see on the final game setlist, the happier I'll be. :)

i can't believe this is the first time i've seen someone mention neil young. good song choice by sabbath, one of their more "obscure" songs from a pwnful album

i like all your other choices too

we need some Thin Lizzy on that list

Yes. There needs to be more talk of Young around here. Southern Man would be a good choice, but so would Keep on Rockin in the Free World. There's probably more.

Great songs but:

You need to expand your horizon ;)

No Satisfaction. It is a kickass song, but it doesn't even have a guitar solo. Go for It's Only Rock and Roll.

Of course, I still want to see Satisfaction as DLC, but it doesn't fit the game well enough to be on the main setlist.

just discovered i double posted even though the forum said i hadn't posted in this thread :chinrub:

to the person who said anything past 1990 needs to cut their hair, take a shower, stop doing drugs, and realize that the revolution is over. THE BUMS LOST. tons of amazing bands are from the 90s and you'd have to be really ******ed not to see that

great picks, but modern stuff isnt that bad. there are actually alot of good bands out there that dont insult the great classics.
